BioShock catches Jack's attention

Oops - a teenage boy strangled his sister because she interrupted him playing BioShock and Jack Thompson isn't happy. What a surprise! The parents don't seem too fussed though, which is kinda weird...

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

Shes not dead and if someone interrupts me while playing they would get a damn sight more than that. However thats not the games fault i just dont like being interrupted

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

Bit extreme though to strangle your sister because you "forgot you were in a game"...at least he didn't try to harvest ADAM from her...

Yeah, not like he tried to gut her open to reach the sweet, sweet parasite inside...

He could have clobbered her with a wrench... that would teach her

Lame excuse though... 'I forgot i was in the game...'

Right.. course you did kid, more like you knew you wouldnt get into trouble if you said that, the game would.

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

its still not the video-game's fault

some people just react differently to violence

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

I liked how the parents were quick to remove all possible blame from themselves - "our kid's a bit psycho but it's not our fault...we just raised him in the basement with Jigsaw..."

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

For the last time it isnt the kid's toys or games and it isnt a mental issue its bad parenting if i ever did that to my sister she would kick my *** to be frank. i never would have dared.

well ive heard of some 10 year old trying to trade his baby sister for some pokemon cards...pathetic

Lame is an understatement pathetic and weak are more like it.

It's always somebody else's fault

Here's a thought if you can't help the response remove the stimulus. Bye Bye Xbox

Personal responsibility is what differentiates children from adults. This needs to be owned by parents and given to children slowly over time rather than dumped in there laps all of a sudden when they reach a certain age.

Got that right, and they would never blame a game again with that threatened.

I thought that excuse was to lame and canned to be real.

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

You see that would never have been a problem if he had just saved the little sister.

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

A guy that id love to be left in a room with for 10mins (thats all it would take) and id get my point across. Video games didnt make me violent the damn world and lifestyles around here did, if thats what it takes then so be it. Games are the escape most people need from the real world, i know if i feel like snapping someones bones etc i play games and try and take some aggression away with them. If i didnt have games to do it i damn sure would have done it all for real by now.

Re: BioShock catches Jack's attention

God, same here with all the chav's around here im still shocked i havnt gone on a mass killing spree and purged the lands. meh still time

Meh, I almost sold my own kid for £25 to some woman in a pub once...easily done...

The last comment on the original article said the story was fake - but the whole thing amused me nonetheless. It wouldn't surprise me one iota if there transpires that someone somewhere tries to kill a friend/relative/random stranger over a computer game. When I think of all the violence that a simple game of football can evoke, it makes me realise that it isn't all that impossible to imagine someone being as volatile over an Xbox game or whatever...
