'BioShock' May Be the Best Game Ever

If your basis is the review that various gaming news sources are giving it, it's a lock for number 1.

Review scores consistently place this game as either 100% or damn near perfect, with the lowest review yet seen a very positive 94% from 'Xbox World 360 Magazine'. According to review aggregator GameRankings.com, BioShock has an average score of 99.1%, which is higher than any other game including fan favorites like 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' and 'Resident Evil 4.'

Yeah ive read every review i could find so far and not one review has gave it less than 94% and gamesradar gave it a 10/10 and ive never seen that before. Can see all their hard work on this title has paid off, and the next generation in games is on the way for sure. Cant wait to see the reviews for Mass Effect & Halo 3 next.

I have yet to play the full game but the BioShock demo I downloaded from Xbox Live the other day was pretty darn cool. As for best game ever, that title is still reserved for Shining Force for the Sega Mega-Drive - for me anyway. ^_^

I think the proper term would be "Highest rated game ever"...:lol: especially since the best game ever for me, is Final Fantasy 8. But from what i've seen from Bioshock so far, i'm impressed...:shifty: step aside F.E.A.R & Gears Of War.

I'm getting up early tomorrow to go to BestBuy and get this thing as soon as I can... Maybe I should quit football and devote all my time to BioShock. Sounds like a good idea...

Heh... I don't know. It is a great game in every aspect, but I just feel that Mass Effect is going to outshine it. Like a megaton watts spotlight to a lit candle.

When Mass Effect is released there isnt much going to get close to it :wub:, but with titles like Bioshock and Halo 3 coming soon its a proud moment to be a 360 owner as these next few months will be the best gamers have seen for a long time.

I don't know if I'd say "best game ever" since that's inevitably up to opinion. However, I must say that it does appeal to me on many levels. Oddly enough, while I think the "shooter" part and plasmids are fantastic, what appeals to me the most is the story and the setting and all; not to mention I really like how all the "monsters" are artists and scientists (since I can actually sort of relate to them) and the like.

I don't care what the game is, I only judge a game when it has it's full polish, out for me to play. it's just like people telling me Jesus has a beard. Actually, i'm not a big christian BUT I would only see it to believe it.

Bioshock though, I could see it being the greatest game ever. But like I said, I treat all my video games the same before they come out :lol: Won't judge anything until I play it. But Bioshock is taking a whole different approach to first person shooter, i'm tired of the sleepy settings i've constantly played, it's time for a change! *picket signs* irate:

But you might be saying,"Well the setting might change, but does it have good gameplay". Man, I would bet hundreds that the gameplay is satisfactory.

Maybe best FPS ever? There are games like Fable 2, AC, Mass Effect, etc.

Lets not forget Halo 3, but i'm rooting for Bioshock over that title. Any day.



Remember, it's our opinions. I might think Fable 2 is the best, you might think Mass Effect is the best. No one, not even the almighty Lord of Hellfire, can tell us whats the best. It's our decision.

Fable 2 of course! Lets not forget the game which is the reason why we are here. Fable 2 will be awesome, but uh... not to betray my Fableian roots, I'd have to say that right now Mass Effect seems like the superior game.

Well yeah but its quite obvious with Fable 2 as we sit here on Fable 2 forum :lol: but again id have to agree with you there about Mass Effect. Although they are different style games Mass Effect is going to blow the RPG world away.

It will be hard to compare Mass Effect BioShock and Fable 2 due to being very different games. We'll need a new rating system after all these games come out. Also add in Assassins Creed Halo 3 and The Force Unleashed. It's a good time to own a :360:

Hate to say it but compare Biowares games record with Lionhead's at the moment. That speaks entirely for itself. Bioware are fully established and legendary RPG makers, regarded by many as the best in the Business. Lionhead need to pull their socks up with Fable 2 and finally deliver on everything they have promised for years and silence the critics. I wont say one game will be better than another as they are different style games but when it comes to all out RPG's i havent seen anyone do a better job than Bioware and Mass Effect is going to smash the RPG genre to pieces as KotOR did.

well, if you can't even compare them I don't see how you can say Mass Effect "isn't even close to its greatness"... that sounds like you're comparing them to me
and I know that going by what little I know about Fable 2 compared to what I know of Mass Effect, Mass Effect is looking far superior...
Mass Effect has branching storylines and multiple paths whereas PM has expressly stated that Fable 2 will not... that's a deal breaker for me in terms of best game ever
and nobody stacks up to Bioware... they just don't
