BioWare: New Mass Effect Titles Won't Have Shepard

Don't worry, this isn't a Mass Effect 3 spoiler. In an interview from PC Gamer, Ray Muzyka stated "We have ambitious plans to continue this franchise going forward. Mass Effect 3 is simultaneously a couple of different things; a thrilling and epic conclusion to the trilogy as we promised our fans we’d provide for Commander Shepard, but it’s also a brand new beginning – it’s an entry point for new fans and it’s also a brand new beginning.” ​

PC Gamer then asked Ray if Commander Shepard would no longer appear in any future Mass Effect titles, and Muzyka responded with "Correct."​

To be honest I'm not surprised and find it welcoming, as much as I like to play as Commander Shepard, I'd much rather have the freedom to play as other races in the game instead of always human.​
