Bodyguards

New found love.

They are entertaining and they are quite useful in a scrap.

Thoughts?

Re: Bodyguards

If you are referring to the mercenaries you can hire then the only thing I like about them is when you have one of each alignment and they either bicker or try to outdo each other with boasting...other than that, they don't do a lot for me...I prefer to kill stuff on my own...

It would be good if you could hire them just before you go to the Arena and then let them do all the work whilst you run around picking up gold and potions...

Re: Bodyguards

^ As would I :P

The arena is pretty easy, With good armor, Good weapons, potions and spare time.

I like the things on the outside, I always get my prey to wander near there.

Re: Bodyguards

I think I only really ever hired them to sacrifice them to Skorm...I don't like spending money on people who die so easily and willingly...if I was about to be sacrificed I'd at least make some kind of "please no anything but that" noise...

Re: Bodyguards

Hey now that's pretty interesting... I wonder if you can actually hire mercenaries before entering the Arena... can anybody confirm or deny this? I'm guessing it's unlikely but I'm curious now.

Re: Bodyguards

I'll look it up, Im on a new file and nearly at the arena, I'll be up there probebly by tomorrow ;)

Re: Bodyguards

I did same as Sharon and only used them to Sacrifice and not to help me in any way as they were to weak to help much and just got in the way.

Re: Bodyguards

I like them to help with fist fighters boasts and to wreak havoc on Bowerstone.

Re: Bodyguards

never used them...ever i only sacrificed them other than that i hire the good one the one in bandit camp and one in bowerstone so funny to listen to them bickering

Re: Bodyguards

They are quite entertaining, and thats what I like about 'em.

And they do die easily. Especially against Wraiths, Summoners, and Minions.

On a side note, I finally and for the first time ever got the Bereaver and the Avenger.

Re: Bodyguards

well I use the big good merc for the White balverine quest (he fights the little balvs while I fight white one)
although I could do it without him I always kill it in 2 shots:D

(muli arrow, ebony longbow, fire, sharpening, and silver augments)

Re: Bodyguards

I only used them for skorms bow
but when waiting at the sundail for midnight,
i enjoyed listening to the two merchs following me argue (one good, one evil)O.o

Re: Bodyguards

when i sacrifice the 2 good mercs (1 from oakvale other from temple of avo) at skorms temple i only get 1 or 2 evil points

Re: Bodyguards

Sacrifice them at midnight
:P
on the clock at the top of the screen
notice how theres 3/4 stars on the night side
wait until the pointer is beetween the two last stars
or go to the sundial and zoom in and wait until the shadow reaches
0 o'clock
plus you can get skorms bow
( best ranged wapon)

Re: Bodyguards

Nice explanation. +rep

Have anymore suggestions or ways you use the bodyguards besides sacrifices?

Me? I prefer a little companionship while storming through towns or going for a stroll in Greatwood. They are decent at bandits and wasps but get killed way fast by anything past a Balverine.

Also, do you prefer the evil bodyguards or the good ones?

Re: Bodyguards

I prefer having one good and one evil...
But how many bodygaurds are there? One outside temple of Avo, one in bowerstone south, one in oakvale and one in the bandit camp? I wonder if you can hire them all at the same time... that would be pure ownage!

Re: Bodyguards

It's rare that i use them in combat... They're merley sacrefises to chapell of scorm

Re: Bodyguards

You can only hire two at any given time.

But you can, however, use the "follow" expression to have the bandits in Twinblades Camp follow you around. But they have a health bar and if you lead them into a town, they will attack the villagers and the guards. Meaning they are useful for distractions but thats about it. If you can kill them fast, then they die fast. Up to 6 bandits can follow you, but I don't know if you can have bandits and the bodyguards.

Re: Bodyguards

You see that... and you notice it by the way they act...
