Buying New Game. But which one?

Okay, I've decided its time to buy a new game. I haven't bought one for a coule months and quite frankly Medieval 2 is getting a little too repetative. The only problem is I'm not sure which to get.

I'm between these three:

Battlefield 2142: ,
What I like: Big fan of the franchise, loved the demo
What I don't like: Too few levels, doesn't seem to add much but a future-esque style

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion:
What I like: Heard great things
What I need: More information from people who have played it.
What I don't like: Not sure if my processor is good enough for such an expansive game

Counter-Strike: Source

What I like: Played it, liked it
What I don't like: Not the biggest multiplayer fan, experianced too many ***holes getting ****** for absurd reasons. Although I could get past that.

So, if you could all kindly vote in the poll, and if you could provide me with info about Oblivion, that would all be great.

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

Okay let me give you my 13 cents.

Battlefield is a pretty rockin' game and if you are a fan of the series it is a good purchase... but not great.

Counter-Strike is another good choice and a game I play on a weekly basis but along with the assholes you deal with the hackers.

Oblivion is a fantastic game that you'll enjoy not just to play but if your computer can handle it you'll just enjoy looking at it as much.

In my opinion I'd pick Oblivion but know this, if your not much of an explorer and your not patient don't get it.

It can be a confusing game to wander and you may get lost sometimes which may frustrate you.

If you can deal with minor problems like that and of course assuming your computer can run this game then I'd say get it.

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

Thanks. Trust me, I can handle Oblivion. I'm a big explorer and I'm quite patient. I think my PC can handle it, I have Medieval 2, Fable, Battlestations Midway, Rome, Freelancer, Medal of Honor, a buttload of demos, and Halo. And I run then all on high settings, so I think I'm covered. Its just I can't stand games that have confusing and "back-tracking" enviroments.

EDIT: Everyone who adds something useful will recieve rep.

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

Oblivion truly looks awesome. And its leaning toward that way, but I'm still a little hesitant about my processor...

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

^

I work at Fry's so I'm pretty good on details when it comes to CPU's ... which one do you have?

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

I have an AMD Sempron 3400+, it came stock with my PC when I bought it. So no processor upgrade yet.

Although I have put a lot of money into it, I have an ATI Radeon X1650 and a 1 GB memory upgrade.

I will admit, I heard about the naked mod... And I will admit I searched for it... And I will admit that its on FilePlanet...

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

Ive seen the naked mod... i didnt get to see the 'good' part tho..

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

So, it looks like I'm going to buy Oblivion! Since it seems that the majority of people are recommending it...

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

Counterstrike is fun!^_^

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

I guess it depends on what you like from your games- I have not played any of the one's you are considering, so my recommending one to you is ultimately pointless as I have nothing to back it up with. But if it were me, I'd go for Oblivion purely based on how everyone has raved about it and I like exploring new places and getting stuck into everything there is to do.

Yeah you should be able to handle it as your processor is better than mine and i can run it at max and my specs are:

Processor: AMD Sempron 3100+
GFX Card: Geforce 6800GT 256Mb
RAM: 2 Gig

Battlefield 2142 is a great game also and one of my favourites, titan mode is really damn good. Oblivion id say for sure but it can be temperamental as ive seen people with amazing computers not be able to run it then people with mid range ones who can its very odd but from what ive seen you shouldnt have any trouble. Id recommend Battlefield 2142 for a future purchase though for sure but go with Oblivion!

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

Te be honest Brian, I only voted Counterstrike because it is the only game I can play in school, being on a wavelan network means I can play with people in school!^_^

But Oblivion is good as well. (Oh and about that 'don't like you' thing, I just couldn't think of anything to say...)

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

I have CS:S (Counter strike source) and I highly recommend it to all of you shooter fans! It's an awsome shooter game!

Re: Buying New Game. But which one?

It is great. Even the guys who are crap in this school enjoy it.
