Call of Duty 4 Tips

Hi guys!

Just ordered myself a copy of Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360. I'm quite pleased since I managed to snag it for a decent price off eBay. I just have a quick question for those uber leet pro Call of Duty 4 players among us who have been playing the game since day one: Got any tips for a beginner?

All I know about the game is what I've seen whilst watching my cousin and DD play. Any perks you could recommend for online? What's the point of 'going prestige'? I'm told you lose all your gear and have to start all over again. Just any kind of tips in general would be nice! ;)

Re: Call of Duty 4 Tips

More often than not, with wargames its a matter of having to get a feel for leading the target more. Recoil is usually exaggerated from what most modern shooters do so take the real life advice to heart. When firing a series of shots, aim for the chest and let the kickback/recoil gradually push your aim up to the throat/head.

Otherwise I haven't much more advice.

Well you start with a handful of weapons but not many until you unlock them and the create a class mode and perks so just pick a class that has a weapon you will be used to from other games such as MP5 at first. Familiarize yourself with a couple of the maps offline first (not all are available on the splitscreen mode though). Get a feel for the controls by playing some single player or by playing around on split screen. Try to stick to cover whenever possible and try to avoid running into open spaces unless you know its clear, you will be surprised how hidden in shadows and such you can be sometimes. Overall treat it like any other shooter except take your time and keep vigilant at all times and dont rush around run and gun style on open maps as you will be sniper bait. Also make sure to listen, COD 4 has excellent sound that can help you too. Can hear people running up behind you waiting to knife you (unless they have the dead silence perk) and hear grenades land near you and that split second might be what saves you. Can also hear when shots are going off in the background and after a while you will be able to guess where from and flank them from behind etc. You dont really need tips as you will pick it up in no time just like any other shooter also all the weapons and perks people like depends on their preferred playing style..

At the moment Prestige is just a way to keep rewarding you for your games when you hit max rank. Can choose to start again and relock everything and it rewards you with a medal to go with each level of Prestige. However there are rumours that an update will further reward the Prestige players in future.

Use Juggernaut when you first start out. No one will be able to kill you easily, and in the time you use it you know how to play well. But dont use it if your good! Because thats just plain stupid, and it irritates people..

Have to get to a level to unlock it first though.

Stick to where you cant be seen, (don't camp for godsakes) and Blast their head full of lead ^_^
