Can I run Fable 3 on XP Service Pack 2?

Someone told me it worked on XP but now I bought it, it gives me an error message about service pack 3 even before i can install the game.. is there any way to make it install on Service Pack 2 without having to install Service Pack 3?

I got rid of Service Pack 3 some time ago because it clashed with some older software which I use frequently so i really don't want to install the full service pack.. Is there any way possible to make Fable work without it? Maybe if i could download the certain parts of the service pack which are used by Fable, instead of installing the full Pack?

I believe SP3 is as low as the game will go with compatibility.

Is there any workaround for this.. because I can't install SP3, it caused so many problems last time i tried (a lot of people have had problems with it).. Are there specific files from SP3 that I could install which would make Fable 3 run, instead of the whole SP3 package?
