Can't trade knothole island items?

Me and my friend tryed to but it didnt show up in the gift section.:'(

Did the friend have the Knothole Island DLC installed or just you? Or vice versa?

Maybe since you can only get one in gameplay, it wants you to only have one...do legendary weapons do the same thing?

Like 95% of all Knothole items can't be traded.

ok so can you instal them on weapons, trade them and then use a remover on them? just shooting in the dark here
