Castle upgrades

I was playing Assassins Creed 2 and noticed that the chamber where you select weapons and armour is very similar to 'The Sanctum' from Fable 3. If they did draw inspiration from AC2 then do you think the castle upgrades could be a similar thing as the villa upgrades from AC2? Peter Molyneux said choosing whether to spend money on your castle or on the people is a tough decision so i don't think the upgrades will be merely cosmetic. I think you will be able to build a training room to learn new skills like you do in Assassins Creed 2, because that's the only reason i could think of why i would withold money from the citizenry

I believe that parts of Fable III are taken from Assassin's Creed II. However, I believe that the Castle upgrades will range from the inside furniture to the overall look of the castle and the noble zones.

I bet they took some inspiration from Assassin's Creed II to come up with ideas. Plus, lets keep in mind they could have got many more ideas from their past games. Many things hint that the player was supposed to have such power(s) when they would accept to become Bowestone Mayor in Fable The Lost Chapters.

Re: Castle upgrades

I think someone mentioned that this idea actually came from black and white which had a similar room.

But talking about the castle upgrades is a really good idea. What upgrades did they do in ac2 for the village? (I only played the first one)

General store upgrades. Unused buildings being rebuilt, for example the Thief Guild, The Well and such things. Some Villa (your house) upgrades were available, i.e. paintings.

All these upgrades made you to have a better income. Therefore with every upgrade you make you unlock a small new income, items from the stores and some small secret areas, depending where you invested your money.

Re: Castle upgrades

And you could seperately upgrade your skills with a trainer

I believe you were capable of training yourself with the trainer, also every time you unlocked a new skill, you could go to the trainer and train yourself in it. However, you weren't unlocking new skills from the trainer at the Villa.

Re: Castle upgrades

You were unlocking special attacks from the trainer at the villa.

Yes, you are correct. You could learn special attacks for some weapon types. Though that doesn't fall on upgrades. That's player skills related.

I know, it's just you said the above.
Regardless, i think the ability to use treasury funds to improve your abilities will be available

I don't think so. Hero abilities in Fable III will be based on the level of the weapon. It has been stated many times from Peter Molyneux.

Re: Castle upgrades

Really? So the only thing that improves is your weapon? Your hero doesn't get any more skillful? That sucks a bit

You skills will increase with the weapon. Depending on how you use it, your hero will change. For example, when you use a hammer, then you will increase your strength or when you use a gun you will increase your skill and so on.

Re: Castle upgrades

Thats exactly like fable 2 but without experience orbs

Thats the idea, except in Fable 3 you won't have EXP to invest. You just lvl up in that which you use most:)

Re: Castle upgrades

so exp is going to be like in crackdown?(shoot someone and get gun exp, blow them up and get explosives exp) I think I like that better then the traditional way.

Re: Castle upgrades

I think they took the example of upgrading your castle from Fable because in it you can upgrade a bought house for a set amount then it goes from pauper house to middle class house to upper class house.

PS: I just bought Fable yesterday, we used to have it but when we upgraded to Xbox 360 I sold it then found out it could play on 360 so im excited!!!
