Child Rescue bug (Slight spoilers)

Ok, so I got myself a family, had two kids, and I was contacted by ol' wifey that one had run off into the Hobbe Cave, no trouble, I thought, and promptly took my swashbuckling hero through hordes of the Hobbes and rescued my kid.

I fought my way back out, into Westcliff and...where's the child? It seemed to have been left behind (Yes, I made sure she was set to 'follow' me), I tried to get back in but I can't without reverting to an earlier stage.

And then I did a very stupid thing.

I walked through Westcliff to one of the roads out, and then I kept walking a bit, and fell into the 'void', I've restarted but I'm a bit wary, will this bug repeat itself or am I safe for one more run through?

I am afraid that from all the reports I have heard (ALOT of places, and alot of people), you should avoid that quest, because it has a bug.

However, Lionhead has been working on a patch, and it has a fix of what, like 2000 bugs? It is set to come out soon, don't know when, I also don't know if it will fix that bug, however, Lionhead already declared it to fix the abbot though.

It's funny, I beat the game, try to avoid this quest, my son dies, go places, then go back to my wife who divorces me on spot, "My mother was right about you!"was what she said. I was mad because, I did the Lady Grey quest, stayed, then the timer hit :00 so I walked out, never saw her again, got evil points on my good guy...

Okay so I most people say that they cant get their kid up a ladder. I cant find my husband in the first place! I went to the family toolbar under quests/maps and clicked to go to my husband. It takes me to the town he is supossedly in yet I cant find him. I also get a notice of a family emergency and that I should check my map which doesnt help because he is not even on it. This is sooooo anoying and I have gotten fed up. How can a company knowingly still be selling glitched games. I just got mine a week ago but I wish I never did cause this sucks!

OH! Apparently, some people found a way around. Don't tell your child to follow you.

This happened to me. I just restarted the quest and it worked fine.

I restarted, went to the cave. When I was making my way to my daughter, a pop-up showed up and said I lost her. Then I get to her cage, SHES STILL FREAKING THERE!!!!!! NOW I CANT GET OUT!!!

My boyfriend and I were working on this today and after several varied attempts, it appears you must NOT make your child follow you. They will follow you of their own accord and make it up the ladder where your spouse if waiting to repremand the child and you get your renown points.

Aye, I've seen it written here and there, it's no secret.

What seems to be the big secret is that this is the Fable 1/Fable TLC section of the fora, and this thread pertains to Fable 2. We have a Fable 2 Discussion forum for this sort of stuff.

Yeah got the kid up the ladder, spouse was waiting by the entrance (took him to my nearby pub to have my way with him) unfortunately he is the wrong spouse. I have 5. Now the boy is just staring at a big wooden box in the stall and I can't do anything. Guess I'll start over.

I have tried all of the above and I was able to get my child, but when we got out of the cave my spouse was no where to be found. stood around for about thirty mintues and he never showed up. redid the guest several times and still no spouse each time. Don't know what else to do.
