Re: Clash of the Titans: Call of Duty 4 vs. Halo 3

They both have a massive amount of positives in them and benchmark systems and modes. Halo 3 perfected the matchmaking system in which Infinity Ward took inspiration from and made one similar. Halo 3 also has the fantastic forge mode and the theater mode (which was the best feature id seen on a console to date). Halo 3 also made a wise choice with the co-op campaigns over Xbox Live and such and the unlockable skulls to mix things up. However the best things about Call Of Duty 4 were the ranking and unlocks systems.

COD4 really opened my eyes to how an online MP game should be set up with regards to providing goals and rewards for endlessly playing the game. In halo, you get a rank. In COD4, you get stuff, skills, and weapons to unlock and play with.

I couldnt have said it any better than that, it is the best online shooter ive ever played mainly for that reason. The system is a simple one and works amazingly well but it adds so much to the game and is the reason we put countless hours into it. You actually feel like your being rewarded all the time with new weapons, perks, camos and attachments etc. I just hope they update this soon with more as it really could be a game you played online for a long long time.

Also in COD 4 you get rewarded for teamwork, with assist kills, faster captures when you work together, using a UAV and Airstrike together, it all helps in the long run. This is something that in Halo 3 you never feel inclined to do. You might be playing a team deathmatch but you feel more like a lone gun in a team and go it alone most the time. COD 4 was the first Xbox Live game i actually dont feel right playing without my Mic because its good to talk with your team and organise attacks and co-ordinate things like enemy locations and such. So i actually feel compelled to work as a team and not go it alone most the time (as i mainly play Hardcore Team Deathmatch) this to me was a big thing for a game to do.

You can be sure both Bungie and Infinity Ward will continue to create new downloadable content for these games. Call of Duty 4 has yet to receive its first set of DLC. Fans are already anticipating an increase in the level cap, new perks, maps and weapons and an expanded set of challenges.

I cant wait for that... Call Of Duty 4 kicks *** :w00t:
