COD4 supported "for a very long time"

Just the news i wanted to hear, after playing COD 4 online for 55 hours and 9 minutes and still loving every second. Infinity Ward have said that they plan to continue support and updates for the game as long as people keep playing it.

Infinity community manager, Robert Bowling, has been caught red-handed talking about the highly anticipated Call of Duty 4 map pack. Unfortunately he didn't really reveal much. We're guessing Activision is saving all that up to make some big announcement soon.

Speaking to Destructoid, Bowling said, "People who want open maps are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want more indoor locales are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want something completely different from what they're currently playing are going to be happy with this map pack."

People who actually want some official, confirmed details to chew on aren't going to be very happy, we say.

But it looks like Infinity will be supporting the game for a while yet, or at least until the next one comes out.

"We plan on supporting our game for a very long time. We're currently number one on Xbox Live, so we have a lot of people playing. So we're going to continue to support the community that keeps supporting us. We have a lot of cool ideas that we're working on, and we're going to keep making maps until we're done."

I suck massively at this game - even on "super-crappy-your-gran-could-beat-me" difficulty - but I'm still enjoying it and if Infinity are supporting it for the foreseeable future then I have a fighting chance of being able to get somewhere with it :lol:

Playing online with Matt right now and still enjoying it, though the kids are annoying. :lol:

Well, I gots a one month gold thingy I can use if I want to...I'm just not sure yet whether it would be worth me even trying seeing as I am the expert at killing myself...:lol:

That's really good news. I know I won't be going anywhere, anytime soon... at least not until I finally go Prestige. I keep telling myself I'll try and cut down after that.

Yeah but its a healthy addiction, im still hooked. :lol:

Sucks losing all the weapons, perks and camos you earned but it teaches you to be skillful with more weapons and adds a nice twist.

That's good to hear. Nothing sucks more than when you love playing a game online and it goes to mush because the company doesn't put anymore time into updates.

I couldnt agree with you more, the PC ones lasted a very long time with new maps and mods. I was worried that the console version of COD 4 would be forgotten about, and as its the first console online game ive really taken a liking to for a while im happy they are going to keep supporting it.
