Community Spotlight v. 11: Arckon
Welcome back, mind the first step, it's a doozy. It is finally time for this week's projectego.net Community Spotlight! Once again, the Spotlight has appeared a bit late, but as this was exam week and I was a tad busy with the trivialities of gaining a degree, I hope you'll all indulge me. Just console yourself with the knowledge that I am finished school until September, so hopefully this madness is behind us all for now.
For this week I dug up one of projectego.net's old relics, Arckon, the once self proclaimed "King of Bards", not to be confused with the staff position here on the forums... or perhaps that was his master plan all along...
Let's find out!
Hexadecimal: so as one of our oldest members, what are your fondest memories of our delightful forums?
and why the hell do you keep taking off on us? what, are we not good enough for you? do you have somewhere better to be? I think it's obvious that you don't...
Arckon: My fondest memories are in the bard areana when I actually had people poeticly challenging me, I enjoyed the challenge, and another one of my fondest memeries here was with blu_phoenix, when she suported my poetry, and I tried to get her to make some poems, but she always said she wasn't good enough but she was she wrote some spectacular peices.
and for the second question I keep taking off because at the time school was swamping me, it just wouldn't let up projects due in two days and crap like that. and no your way too good for me.
Hexadecimal: oh sure... a likely story...
So, as you've mentioned, you do some much acclaimed writings around the community. So, what is your main source of inspiration? What is your primary reason for writing? And why here? What is it about our community that makes you feel so comfortable about expressing yourself?
Arckon: my main source of insperation is my love of fable and of poetry, and somtimes, my inspriation comes straight from the people who read my writings.
My primary reason for writing is because it used to be somthing I never thought I'd like but I tried it once and I couldn't quit, it is addictive any poet would tell you the same thing, I also write because I enjoy the challeng on the rhymes on complicated words, I love a challenge and the best thing to challenge is my brains.
Why i wright here is because I am shy to large groups of people, thats why I hang out with about 5 or 6 people in school at a time, and writing here gives me a sence of "security". and The community here is really too polite to contridict my poetry, and they understand me better than some of my friends.
Hexadecimal: so you're too shy for a group of 6, but a group of 2000 is fine?
What brought you to our community in the first place? Were you after elusive Fable info? Elusive Fable babes?
Arckon: What brought me to the forums was the info, I couldn't figure out the bordello demon door, an dI did find love on these forums aswell.
Hexadecimal: Love? In our den of evil? That's just not possible...
Well, now we know what brought you to our Fable forums, but what brought you to Fable? What first made you pick up the game, and what did you like most about it?
Arckon: Well I actually heard good things about this game but I was kinda doubtful, but then my friend got it and I played it and I became addicted, I bought it and I played non-stop and beat it four time in 2 days.
Hexadecimal: Beat it 4 times in 2 days eh? Were you lonely?
So what are you looking forward to most for Fable 2 then?
Arckon: A larger world, and your character has voice acting with Dialoge choices example: "I want to be good,"I want to be evil". you know stuff like that, and I hope there is a character generator,, for completely custumized characters
Hexadecimal: Well, other than video games, what do you do you do for fun? And what are your future goals? Ans where do you see yourself in a decade's time?
Arckon: for fun I ammuse my self by writing poetry or hopping online and chatting on the forums, my future goals are to become a video game graphic designer, in ten years time I see my self very successful liveing in a humble home still in the State of Maine
Hexadecimal: So are you planning to continue this to the post secondary level then?
If money was no object, and there were no constraints upon you of any kind, what would you be doing right now?
Arckon: Yes.
I would probrubly doing what I am doing now living my life, eat a lot, post on this thread, playing Videogames (only I'd have WoW and be playing it for free)and I might even take a free vacation to Arizona
Hexadecimal: WoW and Arizona, eh?
Some real lofty goals you have there...
Well, what do you love most about our illustrious forums? What would you say is our strongest asset, and our weakest attribute?
Arckon: I love the fact I get to meet new people on these forums.
Your strongest asset is you have a very professenal staff, and the will inforce the law if need be.
and your weakest asset, I am sorry but I can't think of one, besides a little arguement here and there.
Hexadecimal: Why thank you, Arckon… your sucking up … I mean, statement of fact… is most appreciated….
So where did this whole king of bards title and the whole bard battles thing come from?
Arckon: The king of bards title came around because I was practicly the only active poet on the forums, and someone said that I was like a bard, and I thought to my self "king"of bards, and the bard battle thing I just got board and made a thread, and it turned out to be real challenging and fun.
Hexadecimal: Well, all that seems to have changed now... hopefully you're enjoying the new infusion of writers into our community
Anyhoo, I think I've got all that I need here, unless you'd like to use this time to shamelessly promote yourself in some way? Anything which you feel the need to share with the community? Are you a voodoo priest? Clark Kent? Hello Kitty? Your secret identity is safe with us...
Arckon: all of the above
And there you are... The Arckon in Maine falls mainly on the plain...
My thanks go to Arckon for participating in this weeks journey of confusion and beyond, and I invite you all to return next week, give or take a day, for the next installment of squallid wonder in our next Community Spotlight.
