Can anybody please help me? I was trying to put a new copy of game.bin into the compileddefs directory and stupid, stupid Windows Vista 'Helped' me with a mere brush of the mouse by automatically copying "game.bin" over all 5 of the files in the directory.

I was just renaming it, and the files are still there, but they all are now game(1).bin, game(2).bin, game(3).bin, etc.

If anyone can just list the contents of the directory, or know where I can find the names of these 5 files, I can rename them back. I can't get to the original data on the disk without reloading Fable..........thanks if anyone is out there.

All someone has to do is go into Windows Explorer and look under

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable- The Lost Chapters\data\CompiledDefs

and just say what the names of the files are that are there................there are only like 5 of them

Here are the file sizes:

5 KB
388 KB
151 KB
69 KB

and then there is game.bin

Re: compileddefs directory VISTA ATTACK

I realize you want someone to help you, but you have to be patient... this is not instant messaging, different members come on at different times and not every member will know how to help you... you'll have to wait for someone who does... I don't know what time it is where you are, but for most of our members it's somewhere between around midnight and 6am... so that's likely why no one is replying... be patient... posting over and over wont make people come any faster... ;)

Re: compileddefs directory VISTA ATTACK

Couldn't you just re-get them off your fable disk?

Re: compileddefs directory VISTA ATTACK

It's probably too late but UNDO can work wonders when accidentally copying or moving
