Crap, well... What do you think?

Well, in my spare time i doodle some comics for my own practice of cartooning. No reason exactly, it is just a small hobby of mine. But, last night I noticed that my drawings are really similar to Jhonen Vasquez's cartoons. After thinking that, I can't help but feel that my drawing style is too similar to his, therefore I feel un-unique. =/

Just to let you know, there is swearing and a bit of violence in it. Warning you now. (this is for my own personal entertainment btw.)

and yes, the trash can does have significance later. its not totally random.

Well, I own all of Invader Zim, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and Squee, so I'm very familiar with his style. Really, the only panel in your cartoon that resembles it is the third one.

It was a little incomprehensible. I can see where your getting your Vasquez influence though.

And don't worry about being un unique. I think a lot of artists concentrate so much on trying to be different, that they lose sight of what's actually important: making something that people can enjoy for itself.

not really. i wouldn't worry about it too much if i were you.
one of my best friends older brother worshipped that guy and went to school for illustration.

he placed 4th of all 53 illustrators in his grade. so if your style resembles jhonen vasquez maybe it's not such a bad thing.

Ok, thanks guys! That is good to know, i felt like I was stealing his style xD
We do have similar styles tho. Vasquez is defiantly way better than me tho
