creating ur own powerful spells?

well idk if this been done before but do u think u'll be able to make ur own spells?? how awsome will that be! something like oblivion's spell makeing system but mroe lcearer and more awsome. I mean of course there will be a limit when u first start but in the outcome it woudl be cool. If thsi has been discussed then delet my tpoic if not then post ur input on the matter and what spell u would liek to make if they gave u control liek that.

I don't know about Oblivioun's spell system but some new way of acquiring spells would be cool

Welcome Frekinrican, please feel free to introduce yourself here as we'd love to get to know you better Oakvale Town Square.

Yeah, it would be cool to be able to make/acquire new spells somehow - maybe as a reward for doing a particular quest you can have the knowledge of a new spell or for a series of related quests, like core quests, you could be give a fragment of a spell that by the end of completing all the related missions, you have what you need to win the final battle or whatever...

I like the idea of making your own spells but dont think they would incorperate it, i liked playing with Oblivions spell maker as it was quite interesting to see what you could make but as much as i like the idea i highly doubt they would include such a feature.

You can mod it so that you are incredibly Godly. You could cast Divine Fury with no charge time, and so that it covers the whole map, and does like 100 damage each time lol.

which part is the range? That's all I want to do. or did you just use the mod already available?

I stopped downloading ready made mods ever since one screwed up my game. ^_^

As much as I like Oblivion, there's just a certain style and feeling that Fable brings to the Fable that set it apart from the rest. Having alot of the same features taken from Oblivion and plastered into Fable 2 would be disappointing... I hope Fable 2 has some interesting, new features to show the world that we've never seen before and not some rehash of something from another game.

Very well spoken, and I fully agree. This is why I'd say mounts to travel around faster would be a ...poor choice..for Fable II.

Oblivion can be Oblivion and Fable can be Fable. Honestly in my opinion, games copying others make them feel and seem pretentious and unoriginal. Oblivion is good in its own way, as is Fable. Fable may just surprise us with what's in store.

I agree and i for one wasnt saying i wanted an Oblivion feature 'Plastered' into Fable 2 but the create a spell idea could be done in its own unique Fable way and could also include new ideas not seen in games before with it, i was just using Oblivions spell creator as an example of how fun they are and how well they can work. Even games like Arx Fatalis had a spell creator.

Dark Drakan, if you thought I meant something about Fable 2 copying Oblivion, I'm sorry, but I just meant that Fable's success was due alot to its unique style and gameplay. That's all.

Yeah i know what you meant and agreed with everything, i was just making sure you knew that i wasnt just saying i wanted another Oblivion feature included in Fable 2 as that wasnt the case and i was just using that spell creator as an example. I could have used Arx Fatalis's but most people wouldnt have heard of it...

Oblivion is a very good game by all means, but I wonder how spellmaking would work out in Fable 2 if it was included. If they chose to have a spellmaking altar, that would be a little overboard, and that is where I would go to the lengths of calling it copying Oblivion. Fable 2 without a doubt will bring something new to the rpg franchise, but what it might be is what drives us gamers crazy.

One must also consider balance issues - in Fable a spellmaking feature will be hugely over-powering this already fairly easy game. Imagine Lighting mixed with Fireball - each "pulse of damage" on each target would make a ball of lighting explode at each targeted enemy, like Fireball.

All things considered, one might actually say spellmaking is similar to modding as the player is allowed to create something very powerful, designed to do exactly what he wants it to do. I think it takes alot of thinking to make it balance out in the end.

Yeah now that would just be recycling another games feature, they should have an editor and you have to maybe train with someone to learn them or find another mage who teaches you them (but you make them) or something. Im talking in fantasy world as i still highly doubt Fable 2 would have such a feature but i like the idea. Of course Fable 2 will bring new things to RPG franchise and hopefully we will find out 'secret' feature soon...

Obviously they would have to find 'some way' to balance it out so you couldnt just create mega powerful spells straight away etc

Should have to level them up as usual and make them start weak until you have leveled them or used them more and more...

Naturally. But that fact, that they have to balance the game around it, sorta speaks against it I think...

They should have the game balanced anyway so should have a good idea of how to keep it that way.

Mmmm..yes. But adding spellmaking might over-throw the balance the originally planned and therefore they skipped spellmaking...:ninja:
