Creative Boss Said to walk Out of Asassins creed Design

Game Informer is reporting that Patrice Dsilets, the creative director for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, may have left his job just as the publisher is speeding the sequelization of the very successful franchise.

Ubisoft's official statement to Game Informer was the standard no comment for rumor or speculation, and its public relations office added they were unable to contact anyone at Ubisoft Montral, where Desilets was creative director.

Ubisoft recently announced plans to follow an Activision-style model with its most popular series, producing annual iterations of its most popular brands. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is due out a year after Assassin's Creed II's November 2009 release. If Dsilets has left it's unknown what motivated his departure, but certainly speculation is fixating on this philosophical shift.

Dsilets wouldn't have trouble finding work at another shop, and won't have to go far if he doesn't want to. THQ has a new studio in Montral, focused on delivering its first titles in 2013. Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive also call the city home.

Ubisoft would be foolish to follow the Activison idea of bringing out yearly 'updates' of games. Just makes people get bored of the games and realise they are just being milked for what they can get. Id much rather wait a couple of years and get a single good full game than have a new one every 12 months with a couple of new ideas put into it.

^Ya, I like the feeling of knowing an entirely new game of a franchise is being released, not just updates. It gets boring fast.

I live in Montreal and my mom works at a company not far from Ubisoft. I've tested games for them and made quite some cash+a game of my choice (not a very new game but still). :) Pretty cool.
