Crucible Time

Okay, don't know if this is some kind of glitch with my game only, or what. While trying to beat the crucible as fast as possible, I use Time Control a lot. for the first few rounds, this works great. But, once I get to round 4 (hollow men), it sucks. I just beat them with my current time showing about 1:10 and you need something like 2:30. But as soon as the little clock on the right goes away, it says "round completed in 3:05". WTF!?! Any idea what I'm supposed to do?

Re: Crucible Time

summond the dead and use magic and guns to do the rest, what i did

Re: Crucible Time

The problem is, I'm beating the rounds fast enough according to the clock, but then, after round 3, I apparently need to complete the rounds fast enough according to real time.

Re: Crucible Time

Yeah, that happened to me too, a real adrenaline breaker. I thought I really was going to score awesomeness on my first try. Suffice to say, it could be the other way around as the first parts were glitched. But the only way to beat this is upping your strategy. It sucks, I feel your pain, but we all must work hard to achieve greatness. I believe in you!

Re: Crucible Time

What makes it even harder, is that I don't know if it's simply tripling my time, or using real time. Basically, I'm killing them as fast as they can possibly spawn.

Re: Crucible Time

Using Time Control in the Crucible doesn't help - it adds any time you save onto the end of the round.

Re: Crucible Time

Actually, you don't need to use time control to stop the countdown. This is what i did and it works perfectly.

1. When round starts, cast time control level 1.
2. Run to the middle of the enemies, cast time control level 3.
3. This will buy you time for you to cast Force Push level 5 or Shock level 5
4. Pick off the remaining enemies still alive with your range weapon.

Maybe you can try it. It works for me.

Re: Crucible Time

That was my strategy from the beginning. Worked great, and allowed me to kill all enemies as they spawned. Guess it just didn't work for the hollow men. I ended up just sitting in the middle, using time control 1 a few times, and using shock. Took longer and gave more damage, but gave a perfect round. Finished in 2:xx instead of 1:00. Missed on one other round (not sure which). Was really just trying to get the quest cleared. I thought that would happen if I beat the best time. Does it clear if you beat all rounds w/ a perfect?

Re: Crucible Time

Nope. the quest doesn't clear if you get 8 perfect rounds. It'll just be there and you can do it again and again and again. So just get it done once, get your legendary weapon and leave it at that.

The only reason why you would want to do it again is probably just to level up your character.
