A PC game being made by the developers of the award winning FarCry Crytek looks to try and push the boundries of First Person Shooters to even further heights. Set in 2019, players will take the role of Jake Dunn, who is an United States Delta Force Soldier who is sent into a mysterious island in the South China Sea to investigate an unidentified flying object that has crashed in the area.

Crysis is already one of the most highly anticipated games of 2007, as it will be one of the first games to use DirectX 10. Which will allow it to utilize dynamic day/night cycles, fully interactive environments, sunrays and diffuse transmissions, real time soft shadows, soft particles, interactive/destructible environments, volumetric clouds, and advanced shader technology. Which should make the game one of the best looking games ever created.

Following its recent debut at E3, Crysis has received an outstanding 13 awards and 10 further nominations at the show.

CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5Gb
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista

The minimum looks likes the specs F.E.A.R needs to run, and the developers seemed to have 'Streamlined' the game to run quite well on those specs.

But it runs perfect on XP (ive seen the demonstration video) so dont worry about that. DirectX 10 works just as well with Windows XP as it would Windows Vista.

I reck'n you are right....anyhow, what about the consoles? That'd sure solve alot of problems, if they released it to to 360 :thumbsup:

Man, am I glad to get my 360 soon - no more computer spec to look out for. Aaah...bliss.

There is nothing set in stone yet but there is talk of a possible 360 version as FarCry sold really well on the Xbox.

I reck'n...If they have the means of doing so, they'd be stupid not to - like if they will or won't release Fable II to PC.

Oh, and ever stopped to check the adverts under the images in those links? Man, that site sure does allow some...suspicious people, to advert on there.

Im sure most games will still be made for XP, and alot will be made for both until Vista becomes the standard operating system. Im also quite sure there will be a PC version of Fable 2 although there is no talk of one i imagine there will be.

Vista? Standard? Oh, what a horrible future... Lets hope not.(Though I am fairly certain it will be. One day. One dark and terrible day...).

True that. Wonder where they'd actually take you if clicked...:ninja: Though I have better judgement than that, of course. Makes you wonder who actually would click such a link. It's like those "You are the XXXXXth visitor of this website! Click to claim your price!"- pop-ups. Nothing good can come of it.

Heh, FarCry used to be my favorite first-person shooter...Good to see they're still using the island motif. At least the environment itself will be different, assumedly.

Yeah i was a big FarCry fan, it looked stunning the levels were huge, the AI was really smart and it made a nice change for a shooter to be based on a Tropical island. Also the story wasnt your bog standard shooter story and was quite weird. I really like the island theme and jungle settings they are using and when they look as good as that, who can complain?
