Aw yeah. Next to Fallout 4, this is the only other game that has me so hyped beyond measure. CDPR's visual effect's artist Jose Teixeira told MCV in an interview that "Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before, far, far bigger. Working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience," he said. "Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it." The Witcher 3 is easily the biggest open-world RPG I've ever played and the most engrossing at that, from the rich characters to the incredibly detailed world. If Cyberpunk is going to be even grander than that, then I'm going to take their word for it. But it's pretty hard to imagine.

For those that need a quick reminding: Cyberpunk 2077 will be an open-world, cyberpunk RPG that can be played in both third-person and first-person. You will also be able to create and customize your own character (both male and female) and form your own story based on the choices you make (like the Witcher series). It doesn't have a release date yet, but with The Witcher 3 only recently being released, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon sadly.

I came. If I knew nothing else but the title I'd be sold. To know who is working on it and just the little bit of detail given so far, it sounds like something I would have purchased impulsively anyway. Sad to have such an announcement without a prospective release date, but I understand why they do it. Lots of anticipation on my end.

We know as much now about the game as we did 3 years ago and it still sits as one of my dream games from the description as well. With Witcher 3 done, they can finally go full throttle on the development for it so hopefully they'll be able to trickle out more info on this during next year and forward.Well.. I hope anyway, I don't know if I could bare them going dead silent for 4 years like Bethesda.

Oh man, I really really hope this game doesn't fall into the same echelon of hell that HL3 & BG&E2 are currently stuck in. But CDPR are a really dedicated lot, so I have faith that they'll get the job done.

Soon as the expansions for the Witcher 3 are done and they have wrapped up most of the big updates they will concentrate on CyberPunk.

Were there anymore expansions announced for Witcher 3 after Hearts of Stone? I can't remember.

Yeah the next is called "Blood & Wine" coming early 2016.
Oh damn, that's gonna be huge then. Guess we'll have to wait even longer for the full-swing of development, but I can imagine they at least have a chunk of their team working on the game right now to get the momentum going for it.

Without a doubt I bet most the team are already working on Cyberpunk, however the next Witcher III patch is said to have over 300 fixes and changes though and then another big DLC coming so whole team havent moved over just yet.

Majority of Witcher 3 studio now making Cyberpunk 2077

Senior VP of business and publishing at CD Projekt, Michal Nowakowski, said that "The team is divided right now. There's a sizable team still working on [The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine], but an even more sizable team has actually been working on Cyberpunk for quite a while right now."

Did y'all see the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo they released? The narrator for CD Projekt did a very thorough walkthrough of the gameplay and a hint of narrative elements. YongYea's done some dissection of the gameplay showcase they released from the exclusive demonstration at E3.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I POPPED, BABY! We're all breathtaking! Absolutely can't wait for this. Seeing Keanu show up in the trailer and on stage totally made me jump back, that guy's on top of the world right now. FINALLY we have a release date, that gives me just enough time to clear out 1% of my backlog. Unbelievable. Though I'm not gonna lie... I was of the silly group that legitimately believed it was coming in 2019... and Kath rubbed my face in it. But it's cool, I'm just happy the wait finally has an end. H'aaaawwwwww.....

Funny, I was actually talking to Kath about that when we were watching it saying I was sure you finished Witcher 3 by now. Especially given you loved that game more than I did. Definitely wasn't surprised when I hopped on the Cyberpunk Steam page and saw you wishlisted it before I did. lol

Yeah it was unfortunate timing with Ava coming when I was really into it and by time I picked it up again I couldnt remember what I was doing or where I was etc. Then Poppy came and sequence repeated and just didnt have the chance to go back to it as I had been clearing out shorter games from my backlog. Really need to get around to finishing it, havent touched any console games in around 3 months though so just got to find some time.

I was straight on there wishlisting it as soon as the store page was officially opened for it.

Cyberpunk 2077 classes: Solo, Netrunner, and Techie explained

While we await the games release and after the delay here is some information on the classes in the game to get a better idea on which skills each class specializes in.
Solo

If you want a classic 'warrior' class, this is it. In the Cyberpunk universe, Solos are guns-for-hire who work for the highest bidder. Their ranks include thugs with pistols and skilled mercenaries, and they can normally be found in the employ of megacorporations. They're incredibly strong, too - as described in a gameplay deep dive from last year, the class allows you to live out your "Terminator power fantasy" by tearing gun-turrets from their tripods to use as a handheld weapon, breaking open locked doors, or sucker-punching anyone who comes too close.

Solos also have a unique ability - Combat Sense. This allows them to scan the environment for threats, potentially letting you get ahead of trouble before it strikes. When combined with what we assume will be aggressive perks and combat-minded upgrades, the Solo is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

As such, anyone wanting an action-heavy first-person shooter experience should look no further than the Solo class.

Netrunner

Want to be a stealthy computer-hacking wizard? The Netrunner lets you do that. This class is able to gain control of digital devices and cyberware to give them an advantage in combat. That goes beyond the usual 'hack into turrets and use them on the bad guys' trick, though - you can actually hijack someone's prosthetic limbs and cause havoc on a more personal level. This leads to some entirely unexpected (and memorable) chaos. A good example from a 2019 demo showed the player hacking a training bot being used in a boxing ring. It then proceeded to beat the crap out of its opponent, causing a handy distraction.

We suspect the Netrunner class will offer other benefits outside of a fight, too. Being able to bypass security systems or get the lowdown on your enemies ahead of time is sure to come in handy.

Techie

This is the class we know least about thus far, but they appear to be Cyberpunk 2077's support act. They're the engineers of this world, operating out of harm's way to craft the guns and technology that are so essential to success. Intriguingly, they have access to a little helper-bot called 'Flathead' that helps us deal with foes by proxy as well.

Intriguingly, Cyberpunk Red describes them as "renegade mechanics and doctors patching up meat and metal alike". With that in mind, back-alley Ripperdocs who sell black-market cyberware fall into the Techie category.

NPC alternatives

Rockerboys:
Best described as a cross between Robin Hood and Metallica, Rockerboys use the power of music to resist megacorporations and 'The Man' in general. They're an intriguing blend of poet and troublemaker. Johnny Silverhand - the character played by Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077 - is probably the most notable example.

Medias: These are the Lois Lanes of Cyberpunk's dystopian future. As described in Cyberpunk Red, they are "newsmen, media stars, and social influencers risking it all for the truth".

Lawmen: Imagine Mad Max and give him a Cyberpunk makeover - that's a Lawman. Depicted as hardy road warriors, they patrol the mean streets of the future doling out justice whenever necessary.

Nomads: If Lawmen are road warriors, Nomads are Mad Max-style highway vikings. Families of homeless refugees who band together in caravans for safety, they travel from place to place as a horde.

Fixers: Denizens of the future's underbelly, Fixers are middle-men and deal brokers who can get you all kinds of illicit jobs. These are likely to be the folks doling out quests during your game.

Execs: Corporate businesspeople with a ruthless streak, Execs are the Cyberpunk world's elite. Don't be fooled by their riches, though - they're every bit as dangerous as a Nomad or Fixer, if not more so. Money and influence can get you a long way, after all...
