Day of Reckoning

Because of I loved this piece so much, I thought I'd share it here just for fun.:D It's a photomanip and you can view it also on my Deviantart, as well.

The world, once peaceful, has now been shadowed by hate, anger, jealously. Endless wars spawn and each day grows darker, full of misery. It is a day of reckoning.

This photomanip shows how one place that was so full of life and beauty has changed and aged, reflecting what the world has become. The shadowy and dark clouds are sort of like an evil storm created by the hate and everything, and it is coming and effecting everything around it more. However, if you see things and interpret things differently that's neat too. I mean, afterall thats what art is for, right?

Re: Day of Reckoning

Nice work with the cracks in the stone. That looks like a statue of Lurch from the Adams Family :P.

Re: Day of Reckoning

I really like the message of this image, I'm digging the whole..."Once good, now plagued with age and malevolence" thing. It shows how something once peaceful, is now a barren.

Looking at the statue of the priest and the child (can't really determine what they really are), I can see how the man looks like he's guiding the child to freedom and peace. Now, there is no hope left...except the dim light that shines on a crack of clouds.

And it shows how life is today. I feel we're not really following our ancestors. America, generally, is a wasteland of business buildings and polluted air. Some places stay true to nature, but others destroy it completely.

The once hope that shined in a ruin cathedral is now gone, surrounded by wars, technology, disasters, politics...etc. I like that concept, because it's true. These castles, cathedrals, houses, these medieval places are generally beautiful. I think people back then thought they would last forever, thought their opinions and viewpoints on life would stay in history, but they didn't. And in my opinion, this picture shows us that.

I remember going to Germany (I traveled a lot for my highschool class, can't wait next year ) , and seeing a great cathedral. The statue a Greek god, holding flowers in one hand...and a sword on the other. But around this great peace was bullet holes...cracks...columns broken. Why? because it was plagued by wars (in this case, WWII). I feel the place spoke for itself in that respect.

So, it's a rad piece. I have to say, it made me think a lot. And that's when you know it's truly art

Just my opinion, might sound crazy.
