Dead space 2

Read about the game in a magizine (i forgot which) and it seems quite interesting to be honest ill give the general plot of it with no spoilers for the first one (if i can)

The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it..."
—Visceral Games
"At the end of Extraction we watched Lexine board a shuttle and set a course for the Sprawl, the space station that serves as the setting for Dead Space 2"
—Game informer

Dead Space 2 takes place three years after the events of Dead Space. Isaac will be arriving on the Sprawl, a space station where the Necromorph outbreak begins. It is stated that Isaac will be able to witness the panic that overtakes the station from the start, which will apparently result in the game having more Necromorphs as the game progresses. - Taken from the deadspace wiki http://deadspace.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Space_2

Seems really interesting as your not only getting that scary ideal of your whole world crashing around you feeling but you get to see how the process of a entire space station *Several times larger then the dead space barge* turning into the new home for the necromorphs. Only thing i have to complain about is supposedly there saying that Isaac will be more in charge and give isaac a voice and anyone who played dead space original knows the feeling of actually "being" Isaac in a sense because you were his eyes, body, and voice.

Here some pics of the new necromorphs were suppose to meet in the game.

Also seems to be some new weapons such as a javelin gun and such :) Though the trusty plasma gun comes back into play!

Re: Dead space 2

Dead Space 2 is definitely on my "to buy immediately" list. I loved the first one and I can't wait for the sequel. I only grievance I might have with Dead Space 2 is the fact that EA is involved. I'm not a mindless EA-hate drone, in fact I love their games, it's just that with recent games they seem determined to incorporate their own online system into games and my EA account is totally borked.

I can't play any online EA games and I was unable to claim my free Mass Effect 2 DLC because of the problem with my account(s). I really, really hope EA don't go that route again with Dead Space 2 DLC - coz we know there's going to be some eventually, amirite?

Re: Dead space 2

Ya im already waiting for gamestop to put the game on there "Reserve now" list. I agree with the EA online thing, they can make good games but the online thing going to be a bit of a problem as always. First problem is there going to have to compete with games such as MW2 but other then that i think it should be good.

I've heard rumors that EA may put the online makings to another developer but that was only rumors i've found browsing different forums of course.
Im really hoping for a co-op online system much like Doom had but a lot less confusing to use.

Re: Dead space 2

Sounds good, that is maybe a "Rent" game for me, I liked Dead Space, but it wasn't scary or extremely fun, just good.

Re: Dead space 2

Can't please everyone :) But if your looking for a good scary game look at Condemned

Re: Dead space 2

Tried it, meh.

Re: Dead space 2

Not really, I get creeped out easy but rarely scared, for example: F.E.A.R wasn't scary at all... It is my favorite horror game.

Re: Dead space 2

Ah true, but don't really think Deadspace goes for being scary rather then just making you a little spooked to go around that courner if you know what i mean

Anyways something EA added to give some advertising to deadspace so try it out

I only checked it out for a few mins but it seems your acting as a doctor who works on the barge.

Re: Dead space 2

Going to keep this going unless told not to till the game comes out :)

It seems Dead space is taking the walk of shame into becoming a FPS game rather then its roots as a survival according to IGN

Last December, Electronic Arts revealed that internal studio Visceral Games was underway with a sequel to the acclaimed survival horror title Dead Space. Then, the publisher said that series hero Isaac Clarke would prove more aggressive and that the sequel would also include a new online mode.

IGN had a little talk with EA Vice president and confirmed this.

"I can tell you that we're a little more focused on action horror as opposed to survival horror. We just created a really beautiful sequence that we're showing internally -- we haven't showed it externally yet, but we will get it out there soon -- that I think speaks to the high voltage nature of the game," he said. "Some really strong action sequences that I think are on par with the level that we're seeing in the Modern Warfare series and with the level that we're seeing in Uncharted. Just beautiful, visual imagery and very electric action."

Seems that by most fans that this is not the move they wish to see*atleast according to the comments* but it'll definetly be fun to see.

There have been hints that Dead space 2 will be released in the year of 2010 but EA has said nothing so far.

Late last year, Reuters suggested Dead Space 2 will see a release in 2010, but Electronic Arts later denied the report saying it was just speculation.

All in all so far im disappointed in the way Dead Space is panning out but we still have month's for EA to truely decide Dead Space fate and genre.

Rather destrubing necromorph compared to what we've seen, even with the transition to a FPS game EA is sparing nothing into keeping it into the horror genre.

(Im getting this of the Deadspace facebook profile) Quite obviously Steve is talking about the possible add's the the Limited Edition version of Dead Space 2.

No other new's so far but seems Deadspace is slowly unfolding and hopefully will have a larger look into what we can expect.

Re: Dead space 2

Dead Space 2 PC May Still Arrive. to all those PC fans this may interest you.

Dead Space 2 will be making it to consoles, but EA made it clear that: "As of right now a PC sku is not in the plan." This was uncovered when the publishers issued its release schedule for the year ahead. Today a tweet by EA's Jeff Green indicated a different possibility. Dead Space 2 PC was mentioned: "Rumor fact check: There *will* be a PC version of Dead Space 2. Worry not!"

The report is a bit confusing because Jeff first mentioned: "I'm fairly certain it's a same-day PC release, too." Sadly, after that he said: "Fact checking my fact check: Dead Space 2 PC is just 'Under Consideration.' DOH I'm just an excitable PC dork. Should I start the petition?"

So, will there be a PC version of Dead Space 2 or not? Well, we obviously can't say anything for sure yet, seeing as the developers aren't even sure about it themselves. We'll keep ya posted on this.
