Dear Videogame Industry, Please Stop Making Games

Re: Dear Videogame Industry, Please Stop Making Games

That was a funny article, I agree there are too many, but I don't buy many of them, call me a sucker but: I rarely try new games, I follow a few favorite developers and that's it for the FPS and Strategy genre, occassionaly (Like yesterday) I buy a new RPG without knowing the developer.

I actually don't like assassin creed lol

But i agree, give everyone a chance to go over their favorite games plot line and have the gaming companies play their games and find flaws that players have already found.

What annoyed me was that certain companies feel the need to release a new title every year. Makes the game feel more like a 1.5 version of the originals rather than a true sequel. I wish they were allowed to have a longer development time to get lots of new ideas, technology, tweaks and bug fixes into the games. Would also help people appreicate games as it would give people longer to play them instead of rushing through one game to move onto the next. Some parts of the year have 10 major releases then theres a period of about 7 months where nothing significant is released & everyone has rushed through the games and is left with nothing to play.

I totally get where this is coming from. It seems like in the past few months the industry has just been bombarded with big titles. And I don't have the time or the money to keep up with it. I still haven't gotten Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2, and a few other big games that have come out, nor have I even finished Dragon Age: Origins, although I do have it.

Im the other way around, ive completed Assassins Creed II and Mass Effect 2 and still need to purchase Dragon Age: Origins. Then theres Bioshock 2 which will likely be my next game, then new AVP is coming out in a matter of days and then FFXIII...
