Delaware question?

I was on vacation for the last three days, in Delmarva-- MD Eastern Shore and Delaware, at the beach.

While I was in Delaware today, I saw a lot of places with flags at half-staff, and when we went by the Delaware National Guard training base we saw a lot of people in what looked like Air Force uniforms (presumably Air National Guard) at a formation, also with the flag at half-staff.

Does anyone have any idea what happened? I looked around the internet, but I didn't find anything, possibly because Michael Jackson is taking over all of our news.

Did a Delaware soldier die or something?

I cant imagine the air force caring about MJ.... I have no idea. must have been a local thing. I vaugely remember flags being half staff over here because a mayor or something died. so mabey something like that happened over there. I havent heard any news from Delaware.

No, I didn't think it had anything to do with Michael Jackson.

But yeah, just about everyone had their flags at half staff. Could have been a politician or something, but I'm guessing National Guard airman. I just wish I could find out for sure. It's driving me nuts. Maryland didn't have flags at half-staff or anything, so I'm guessing it was just Delaware.
