DICE 2008: Call of Duty 4 Wins Big at Interactive Achievement Awards

The Annual Academy of Interactive Achievement Awards yesterday honoured the big titles of 2007, with Call of Duty 4 leading the pack and Valve's The Orange Box also recognised for its merits.

Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4 – which this week has again ousted Halo 3 as the most-played game on Xbox Live – was deemed both the overall and console game of the year, while The Orange Box took home computer game of the year. Other noteworthy winners were BioShock, understandably acknowledged for its outstanding achievement in art direction, story development and sound design, and Motorstorm earning itself racing game of the year in the face of some stiff competition.

CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Mike Morhaime was inducted into the Academy's hall of fame, while former Sony chief Ken Kutaragi was let out of his padded cell to receive the lifetime achievement award.

Great to see Call Of Duty 4 receiving yet more awards and high praise, Infinity Ward deserve all the credit they are getting. Other worthy winners in that list too and high praise for them all is needed. +rep for posting this
