The official winner of the Gamescom 2012 awards was announced today and Dishonored picked up 3 awards. With it winning Best Xbox 360 Game, Best PlayStation 3 Game, and Overall Game Of Show. On top of those awards Eurogamer and Gamestar have announced it as their Game of Show too.

Seriously? Oh boy.

A game that isnt a sequel that blends the best parts of 4 games into one, yeah seriously. Went from being under most peoples radars to being at the top of a lot of peoples most wanted list. Easily in my top 4 most awaited games of the year.

Yeah, it just sucks that it's the only game that isn't a sequel and managed to grasp attention and it is Ubisoft. I'm growing sick of their influence. Regardless, it's an average game, so it's a safe option, I guess.

Ubisoft? Its by Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis & design, animation and art of Bioshock 2) and published by Bethesda and its not even out yet so how can you state its average like its fact? I personally think it looks brilliant, Arkane Studios founder Raphaël Colantonio and Deus Ex developer Harvey Smith as the game's creative directors, along with Deus Ex designer Ricardo Bare and the guys who designed City 17 in Half Life 2 as the art directors it sounds like some talent to me...

Sorry, I messed up, I was looking at the wrong page while I wrote that and I was thinking about Ubisoft for some reason. So relax about that. Besides, people give Half-Life 2 too much credit, meanwhile Deus Ex can stand out as a game, Half-Life is over credited.

Cant deny the art design was superb though even if you didnt like the game, Half Life 2 was one of my favourite games ever and also voted in most peoples top 5 of all time. Deus Ex has also been one of my favourite series ever and was overlooked by many but still managed to be in the top 3 of all time on a lot of PC sites & fans of PC gaming and was voted by many as No.1.

PC gamer - Top 100 of all time

Granted I was a little young to fully appreciate the original for being as good as it was for its time, looking back it was well ahead of its generation. I did go back and replay it many years later but would have been better to have got to appreciate it more for what it was when I first purchased it.

I for one an glad the media are getting behind Dishonored and are excited for it because id love to see it do well as its embracing what gamers have been asking for, for some time. Open ended game full of choices and different means of getting to a destination and achieving a goal without being punished for going down one route.
