Disk Fixing?

Hey, question. What works for getting disks to work after the 360 says they're unreadable? I saw something about toothpaste, does it work? My MW 2 disk broke or something and now XBL won't work on it. Thanks for any help.

Re: Disk Fixing?

if it's scratches take it to a game store. sometimes they can relayer them and make them work again.

Re: Disk Fixing?

Toothpaste? That's supposed to clean your teeth not discs. Never heard of anything like that before... then again there was that one "fix" going around where you rub a banana on a scratched disc.

Does your MW2 disc have any scratches or fingerprints on it? If not, it's probably your 360's laser acting up. You can eject & close the tray multiple times with the disc still in until it finally reads it, get a replacement disc, or have your 360 replaced/fix if all else fails.

Also, are you getting the disc read error for MW2 only or for other games as well?

Re: Disk Fixing?

toothpaste does work. just make sure you read a guide carefully because it can make it worse if you do it wrong.

you could also go to a video store and ask to use their disc cleaning machine.

these are both assuming that you only have scratches on the bottom. if it's missing parts of the top label, then no amount of toothepaste or anything can fix it, you have to buy a new game. :)
