DLC problems

So I didn't have the required DLC to play co-op with my sister (who bought the Dog Outfit DLC) and I parted with some MS points to join a game with her. Fine. Next, I try and join a game with another friend and I find I don't have matching DLC to play in his game. I deleted the Dog Outfit DLC from my hard-drive (because let's face it, it kinda blows) to see if it would make a difference. Now, I can't load up my game because I need the DLC to access the saved file which seems really unfair having pumped 25 hours or so into it so far and I feel I'm being condemned into playing with people who've been stupid enough to also buy the doggie DLC.

Is this a widespread issue? It needs to be patched asap.
 
Yeah, that happened to me because I had the Free weapon pack, my friend didn't so we couldnt play together unless he DLED it :p.
 
I think that's pretty poor to be honest. It's ridiculous how I'd need to start a new game because I wouldn't be able to access my save as I deleted the DLC in hope of playing with some friends. I can hardly say to them, "hey, please download the dog outfit so we can play together!" Fair enough with the free weapons as they're FREE but the dog outfit is a pointless waste of MS points and I doubt many people will fall for it.

I've got to wonder too if the dlc for the collector's edition also falls under this "bug". It would be a real bummer if it does. I know not everyone has the money to fork over an extra 20 for a few extras. If so then that means a large portion of folks can't game with each other because of an oversight on lionheads part. Starting to get sick of these pre-order collection edition crap. "Oh! this is exclusive so buy now or you'll never ever get it!" god damn marketing bs -_- .....anywho! ....yea i fall for it every time too :blush:
 
It could very well be the same with the collector's edition, I couldn't tell you though - I was too skint to afford it! I really hope it gets sorted out in an update or something because it is unfair to people. I'm seriously considering grabbing the rest of the collectibles (keys, books and flowers - got the gnomes finished yesterday) and deleting the DLC and starting a new game just to play with friends.

I have the collectors edition and i have had no problems what so ever with playing with friends. i know that i am the only one in my friend group that has the collectors edition. i have redeemed all the collectors edition codes so i do have all the DLC that my friends do not and there has been no problems :)

I fell for it..

I didn't have very many MS points left after buying a bunch of Mass Effect 2 DLC's So i used what was left to buy myself a lovely dog outfit.

....That i never wear.
 
I had this problem trying to play with a good friend of mine. I think it is just ****ing stupid that you need to have the exact same DLC as the other person in order to play with them. That's just bad programming on Lion Head's behalf.
 
Same thing with me Terra_Zeta! I had about 300 or so left over so I thought yeah why not! It's not gonna cause any inconvenience or anything.... :ermm: I remember looking at the suit and thinking 'nah' and it's been in my sanctuary wardrobe ever since.

Hope enough people have this problem so it bring Lionhead's attention to it!
 
So does that also mean that in Fable 3 if I buy any of these dlcs that have been released and my friend doesn't we won't be able to play in each others game? Or is the issue only with specific dlcs?

Huh...I didn't even think about this when a nabbed the dlc yesterday. Crap....Now I wanna know this as well. :/ I really hope when they released that patch and the dlc that they had the foresight to maybe fix this problem......not gonna hold my breath though.
 
Haven't seen anyone with these dye or ind armour dlc equipped yet, been keeping an eye out in the game and asking and no one has them. Maybe everyone is boycotting it or I can't join games of people who bought the dlc. They should at least release a free access download if this is the case so people who didn't purchase dlcs can play with people who did, like in Crackdown 2.
So hard to find any information on this and this thread was the closest subject I could find :s

Guys it's a false alarm. once you have 1 dlc you can play with someone who has any other dlc as every dlc is basically the same file but with permission differences. Just playing with someone who had the ind armour dlc and I don't so it works all fine. Just make sure to at least download the free weapons dlc I should say. Seems like Lionhead were on the ball with that one at least

I'm sceptical to try out that new Dye pack just in case even though as you say LesleyHero things are looking up. I might nab it with my remaining MS points anyway after getting the co-op based achievements done.
 
I bought the dye pack and the new clothes and I am have NO PROBLEMS join other ppls game. I Dont have the dog outfit but I joined a friends game yesterday who had it (and was wearing it) and we played together :/
 
Oh good, I guess they fixed that little problem...though now i have to look forward to people running around in dog outfits...yikes. And sorry I wasn't able to jump on the box Lesley, pretty busy week. Only time i get to jump on the forums is at work...when i should be working...so boring here at work :ermm:
