Duels

Due to it being the custom of the time, I suggest that you can duel. You could do it for several reasons. If you wanted to marry a woman or date her, and another man wanted to do the same, then you could challenge him to a duel. Or you could do it if a NPC said an offensive comment. Finally you could do it just so you can build up a reputation as one, or just for the hell of it. It could be a like a quicktime event. Say if it was pistols at 10 paces, then you would have to press the shoot button at the right time. It would be easy when you start out as you only duel beggars or commoners, but as you rise in power you could duel noblemen trained, it becomes harder. With swords, it would be a simple sword fight, but you could end it at certain times, maybe even at the beginning, as they lunge towards you and you could counter attack them. I'm looking foward to seeing your opinions on the subject.

And if you were corrupt you could always cheat =P It's a nice idea and could be fun to do as a mini game with natal (i.e the turn and draw motion is picked up by the camera ) or just fun with a friend over live =P

well, f1 and f2 both had an arena type place where you dueled monsters for money, hopefully if they stay in the tradition and make one in f3, it will have better coop and multiplayer online battle functions aswell.

it would be cool aswell if that affected followers, like you gain followers (maybe a fraction of your opponents)
or weapon parts and such.

That would be pretty awsome. You could do the Burr-Hamilton duel again and kill on the quickdraw.
