As of late, EA has been in disagreements with Valve over the DLC of their games and as such Dragon Age II has been made no longer available to Steam users. EA then further detailed why this has been done:
"Unfortunately, Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to sell downloadable content. No other download service has adopted this practice. Consequently some of our games have been removed by Steam. We hope to work out an agreement to keep our games on Steam." - Electronic Arts
Prior to the removal of Dragon Age II, EA had also pulled Crysis 2 from the digital service for the same exact reasons.. to top it off EA has announced that Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic will also not be available on Steam for the future. Hopefully these two companies will eventually work their serious issues out soon, it's already bad enough that Rockstar and Team Bondi are sick of each other.

Source,

EA's full of ****, anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to purchase the Pre-Release Star Wars: the Old Republic Collectors Edition this coming paycheck. As for their other games, I've always hated Crysis. Can't stand the story or the game play, and as for the graphics, they're beautiful, but not a reason for me to get into. Then Dragon Age never appealed to me. I also don't like how they handle their games updates and DLC's, but they're definitely not as bad as Microsoft (Mind you, I'm talking about PC Games here, not their Console counter-parts).

I do hope EA and Valve work things out, but to be honest, I'm on Valves side on this one.

EA put out a statement a while ago saying they werent happy with some of the updated terms of service with Valve regarding steam but they hoped to resolve things quickly. At the end of the day EA would want their games available in as many ways as they can be distributed.
