Editing Trader Trouble...

Yeah, since I don't like just happening upon stuff in a chest, I was delighted for the trader that was coded to sell some awesome modded stuff, for equally awesome prices.

However I am having trouble adding additional items for him to sell me. The item I am trying to add for sale is HERO_BLINDFOLD as you can see by the code;

i can see nothing wrong with it
but i'm not a pro by any means

maybe its just one of those weird things that fable can do...like deleting the land and making the guildmaster have random spasms infront of you

seriously though, i can find nothing wrong :)

I'm starting to think maybe I need to change something for the Blindfold itself, like adding something which makes it sellable/buyable...

Yeah. Everything spawns in chests. Headgear though seems to be tricky when sold. Thunder's Helmet, Nilithus Mask, Balverine Hat and now Blindfold, none can be put to work correctly in a shop for some reason.

I was just reading that in the New Headgear: Blindfold thread.

Maybe compare the HERO_BLINDFOLD code to an item that the trader can sell like the chain helmet

No seriously, I've been all over the item, and can't find it.
The assassin mask and assassins bandana (both new items) do work, hence I've based the blindfold and balverine hat on their data entries... Didn't pay off I guess.

Anyway, I will look into this again before I release NewItemPackV2. I also told Keshire about the thing, but he's a busy guy.

What about some sort of 'drop list'? Would be sorta cool having Balverines randomly dropping the hat and would work as a very legit way of getting it.

This can be done, and I don't think it's difficult either. Never messed with it myself though.

I've figured a way to go around the trader crashing problem.

For NewItemPackV2 I'm gonna put the crashing items in a chest, lock the chest and let the trader sell you the key to open the chest :cool:

Now; any ideas on what sort of object that 'key' must be? Just a key, or something else?

Hah, nice idea. How about having him only sell keys? Like the 'Thunder Key' which unlocks the 'Thunder Chest' containg his full armor?


But on the other hand... that'd be a ton of chests to take up space! :lol:
