The latest issue of Game Informer, which contains both cryptic and clearly defined information, has proven to be a treasure chest for fans seeking new info pertaining to Bethesda’s recently revealed and highly-anticipated Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Chief amongst the deets is the fact that the game is set 200 years after Oblivion, the last entry in the series, within the a snow realm north of Cyrodil called Skyrim. Also, there will be ten races to choose from with customizable bodies and faces – including the ability to add beards! NICE! You’ll also have a selection of 18 skills and what’s being referred to as “Fallout-esque Perks”.
Beyond those tidbits, we also know that the game will include five “massive” cities, five magic schools, and a wide array of enemies including trolls, zombies, ice wraiths, and dragons to name a few. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it’s been revealed that the game is running on an entirely new engine that will showcase dynamic snow and shadows, more detailed objects such as trees, and an improved third person view.
