Ethical qualms with cheating to get gold and items.

In Fable II they made gold an actual commodity, and barter has also become an integral part of the Fable II online 'economy', so when I hear about people using exploits to get ridiculous sums of gold and duplicating items to the point where they have ridiculous totals of... Well, stuff, it irks me.

Call me a politician for saying it but it creates an imbalanced market. I know this isn't going to do a whole lot if anything at all, but I thought it deserved to be said.

Anybody have thought on this?

Thread go!

Wow, never thought of ot like that.

Re: Ethical qualms with cheating to get gold and items.

The Fable 2 economy was programmed to be screwed. I have 10mill purely throught rading and assassinations. Fable 1 had the same problem. Buying weps in Bowerstone South and selling them in Fairfax, you can get obscenely rich within an hour.

Because of that, I don't care about cheaters, it's not like they can make it any worse. Duping or hacking rare items, now THAT annoys me. don't think it can be done on this game though.

Yeah getting money in fable 2 by messing around with the clock system sure is fun,but when it comes to duplicating items in fable 2 with an xbox 360 memory card please don't get mad at them or despise them in anyway, because they're taking risks in duplicating items. The risk in fable 2 memory card duplicate items cheat is that when you're doing it you have to be cautious and careful, because if you do something wrong it can:
Break your hard-drive,delete all your accounts, data, etc and it could destroy(in anyway)your xbox 360.So don't blame them for duplicating items,as they're taking a big risk.

Re: Ethical qualms with cheating to get gold and items.

I understand your justification to an extent, but, and this is a nigh-obscene metaphor but it's still appropriate, robbers take big risks during bank heists.

Hackers and dupers aren't any better because what they do isn't 'easy' and they're taking 'risks'.

Re: Ethical qualms with cheating to get gold and items.

I would agree with you if this game was an MMO, as it is the "market" is seperate in every individuals game so they are only going to make any real changes in their game, if you mean that thanks to the dupes, money glitches that money is no longer a commodity that can be used to barter with then I guess in a way your right but in a game like this it would never have held much value in the first place (money in the game is easy enough to get without duping, money glitching.

Re: Ethical qualms with cheating to get gold and items.

munnys worthless so id trade items, who cares anyways you cant buy legendaries so for me munny has no purpose. You can dupe items in fable 2 and i think its fair there not hurting you at all.

Re: Ethical qualms with cheating to get gold and items.

My issues with your punctuation aside, the Red Dragon is a difficult weapon to acquire. If someone dupes it and starts trading them helter-skelter it loses it's value as a status symbol. Same deal with things like the Rammer.
If someone steals a bycyle down the street it's not going to affect me, but that doesn't make it okay.
If it did I'd be a sociopath, and I'm not at that level yet.
