European Halo 3 Tournament For Prizes

Microsoft sends word that amply ranked Halo 3 players can finally put their melee skills to good use, as the Official European Halo 3 Tournament Sponsored by Samsung TV kicks off in Europe next month - and you can win a big telly!

From today, would-be Halo champs can sign up to the tourney by heading to the Xbox Live Dashboard, clicking on Tournament adverts, and then downloading the free GamerPic.

Once players are registered, open play runs from March 18 to 30. Entrants will need to perform on the three game modes that make up Tournament playlist; Slayer, King of the Hill and Oddball.

At the end of open play, the top ranked player from each European country will be crowned Halo 3 National Champion and awarded an exclusive piece of framed Halo artwork.

They'll also qualify for the European Final, where the top ranked players will face-off to win a gigantic Samsung Crystal Design 40" Series 6 FHD TV. Oh yeah, they'll also be able to use their Xbox 360 skills to win an erm, Xbox 360 Elite.
