fable 2 game transfer

I know there is some kind of thing that lets you transfer some of your fable 2 data into fable 3 but it is all kind of confusing to me. What exactly is it and how do you do it? I know froggy has a post on this but i found it very confusing. I am just looking for a more simple explanation.

basically if you played fable 2, fable 3 will automatically load your most recent save.
this means that your final decisions, the state of the economy, and your alignment in fable 2 effect the state of the fable 3 world.
