Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

First off I want to say that the ending absolutely SUCKED! You wait all of that time for one simple shot to shut that mofo up. Its really a slap in the face when you think about the last Fable, and how Jack of Blades took forever to kill, plus coming back as a dragon. Then whole game leads you up to making three choices...so much for epic story

Not to mention all of the bugs(I had to start over with another character right before the last mission because suddenly my character couldn't pull out his sword in Bloodstone)

Before Fable 2 came out their was so much talk about having a dog and raising a family...however both are limited. The dog's main task is finding potions, books, and bags full of money underground every five steps you take...quite annoying when your being attacked and the only thing your dog seems to care about is a book underground you already have! The AI's are pretty much all the same..with lil uniqueness to them...so if you want a wife don't worry about having problems choosing..you have a choice between pretty...fat/slut/ and poor. The hot rich girls are lesbians so...yeh. And no matter how much money you get...your wife and children still look like poor ppl.

Also their is no armor in this game like Fable 1. So instead you have a very limited supply of clothing, which you can change colors with your dyes...I have no interest in wearing poor rag tags(if you like the poor guy look this works...but if im sitting on 4 mil $..I dont feel right dressing in Bandit shirts and boots)...so I was stuck in my noble man's clothing...oh yeh and their are no hooded outfits or capes

Plus when you look at how short the game is...it leaves you kinda wondering at the end..."is it really over"...I would honestly say if you sat down and played the main story from start to finish with NO side quest...it would probably take you about 6 hrs to beat.

ALL in ALL Fable 2 has many great aspects...and in fact I liked the game. But after playing games like Oblivion and Mass Effect...I was holding it to a new standard. I had so much high expectations for Fable 2, I guess I was setting myself up

Dang dude, put a spoiler or something..I had to stop reading at like the second sentence 'cause it looked like I was able to be spoilered :(

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

it is the glitches which get me

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

Like: Everything. Dislike: Annoying wife disappearing bug

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

Likes: General storyline...Ending not included, combat mechanics, the fact that you actually have an influence on the world, the dog, family plus the quests attached to them.

As for dislikes...

Well, I was talking to a friend about it last night actually, Fable 2 just doesn't grab me as much as the first Fable did, I literally lost myself in Fable/Lost Chapters to the point where I could play for hours upon hours and not even notice that I've missed breakfast, lunch and tea, plus going to get a cup of coffee with my friends.

Fable 2 just...Lacks something, I can't put my finger on it, don't get me wrong, I LOVE the game, so much, but it just lacks something that the original Fable had, and I really don't know what, at face value, it's got everything Fable had, and more, but it just feels like there's some massive chunk of it missing...

You all know about immersion right? To quote Yahtzee, it's when you find yourself looking for your invisibility gem while walking down a dark alley after you've played a weekend marathon of Thief, it's where a game truly sucks you in, and Fable 2 just didn't do that for me...Eh, call me picky, but it didn't have the spark of Fable, but still, I do love it, in fact, I'm going to go and play it some more right now.

After I play through Fable 2 a couple of times I'll d/l Fable...I never played it :ninja:

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

THE FOLLOWING IS COMMENTS ARE BASED ON THE PERSPECTIVE OF ME PLAYING AS A GOOD " Ranger / Will User"

WARNING SPOLIER WILL FOLLOW ( DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED GAME UNLESS YOU DONT MIND READING WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF FABLE 2 ) :

Okay fyi if you get shot with a bullet while wearing plate mail your chances of dieing increase to a chance that wearing plate isn't worth the protection from swords , That is why there are not any knights any more ( and many other reasons).
For any of you wondering out there why wouldn't plate be better than no armor because the bullet shatters the armor and spreads it all inside you its like a grenade blowing up a few inches in front of you ( okay maybe not that big , but you get the idea ).

Okay now my rant time
I really didn't find any clothes I liked wearing , I enjoy being a will user but alll the clothes didn't look good so I ended up going guns and taking the upper class out fit I dyed my clothes red and I felt like I was a British solider during the American revolution xD , but over all I would have preferd some cooler looking clothes

Omg you get fat way to fast lol its like 2 pies and your over weight

The dog , I didn't like him that much ( SPOILER ALET ) even tho at the end I chose to bring him back he was kind of useless in battle ( I didn't knock the enemy down alot they were usually dead before the hit the ground ) He was cool to find treasure and I enjoyed throwing the ball with him but he was kind of an nuscience :(

Also I liked that there were aoe spells and single target spells in fable 1 I dont like how pretty much every spell in fable 2 can do both.

Also WHY DO BALVARINES LOOK LIKE A RAT / WOLF NOW ? WAYYY COOLER LAST GAME.

Arena ( the crucible )kinda sucked compared to the first one it felt more epic to me in the first game

The cut scene expressions wasn't realy that good maybe I just didn't understand it alot but up for positive down for bad really didn't make scene for me.

Also It felt like I got more money more easily in fable 1 (SPOILER : yes i know about the greed choice but im talking about throughtout the game ) witch would have been more awesome in fable 2 theirs so much to buy ! Also questing for cash was more fun the jobs got repedative ( yes I understand in fable 1 you could run out of cash , but I never played that long )

Keep this in mind when you read my next statement I haven't played fable in along time maybe a year but I think the combat in fable was more fun ( Will wise ) but fable 2 beats it in guns and ( maybe )melee. Also I think treasure hunting was more fun in fable 1 because I didn't run around the game every 15 minutes to hear a bark and find some treasure.

I think they were both fun and that they each had better things than the other but I felt a more " epic poem " feeling in fable 2 ( maybe because it was so long ) but I will for sure play fable 2 again and maybe fable 1.

Also Fable 1 game guide way better than fable 2.

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

^ You may feel differently having played Fable 2 first, but I thought the first Fable, especially Lost Chapters, was a work of art that could draw in even those who despise RPGs, even one of my friends, who hated the entire Final Fantasy series, along with Oblivious, picked up and played Fable, and he fell in love with it.

If that doesn't say something, nothing does.

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

Speaking of final fantasy, hey riku is that pic of Lightning from XIII? She's a hottie whoever she be

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

Making money isn't hard at all, just level your bartending/blacksmithing, then buy shops.
I make around 15K every 5 minutes.

no sorry...its picture of Riku from Kingdom Hearts 2

also I wanted to note...I hoped that the game would be more open with more LIKE ABLE cities...at least five places that are really kool, with their own uniqueness and things to bring

but other then bowerstone...the list drops way way low...wut can you do in Oakvile or Bloodstone...and you still stuck to walk along a path unlike greater games such as Oblivion where the space wide and free, giving you the option to explore and enjoy the scenery.

and whoever mentioned the Magic system is so correct...to put it flat..IT SUCKS...if your like me, you like to fry this person, burn the next, and then hit the other with force push, then slash or shoot tha last guy...but in Fable 2 you cant do that without costing yourself time that will lead to you getting hit or worse...knocked out, thus making you choose wut spell you like the most...and sticking with it the entire fight. Also if I have level five Inferno and level five Shock...why must I choose that at level four charge up its either gona be fire or shock...why cant I just have level five inferno with button B...and with useless A button(which you cant use in a fight) let me use level five shock...why is all of the spells on one button when on fable they worked it beautifully...someone should have told LIONHEAD (WHEN YOU GO TO THE DANCE....DANCE WITH THE GIRL THAT BRONG YOU)...their was no reason to switch it up

and the side quest are just no fun after you beat the game...I just enjoy buying everything I come across...and strolling around my castle...but other den that..it pretty much meh...and I hope their planning on making some kind of lost chapters....b cuz the way the game ended is way to sudden for a final boss

and pls if they make another Fable game...GIVE US HORSES...or something too ride...ima multi millionaire and im walking from place to place....not kool

oh and next time don't release the game full of bugs....thats just a slap in the face for ppl like myself who has spent the last four yrs waiting for the game...to get 3/4 done and hafta start over..

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

i dont like how PM said if you play only story its 10 hours that is either a huge lie or he did not play the game and guess i overall think PM did what he did with fable 1 said it has this and this then when you get the game your like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? is that it what happened to the cool ____________ this is BS

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

I like a lot about Fable 2, the storyline really drew me in
The part at the end with you as a child on the farm was really confusing though
The characters were lovable (And it helped that I had heard of Teresa and Reaver's voice actors) and the quests were genuinely interesting, I felt attached to my family (Well, maybe not, but it was an improvement on Fable 1's family) I liked the dog, and I hated Lucien. The jobs system was a nice improvement, the loading screens were a bit tedious but the hints and tips inside them made it worth it (I've been playing it for three days now and I still don't think I've seen them all), the humour made me feel smart (To quote from the description of an in-game apple: "A solitary worm inhabits this apple, it's not a feature, it's a bug"). The combat made me feel badass (Especially during one moment when I shot a balverine between the eyes as it was about to jump at me) and the skills system was intuitive and easy to figure out.

I didn't like the expressions system, it seemed much the same as in the original Fable but some villagers now had three likes and one dislike (Which, if you were lucky, were all Places) and their opinion of you was far too easily swayed. The choice system didn't feel very well implemented, all the other reviewers said that it was a 'subtle' difference, but it was too subtle and I failed completely to notice it. There were times when I realised, 'golly gee this has changed, hasn't it?', for example:
After my time on the Spire and I came home to Oakfield, all the extra houses were a bit disorientating, and suddenly my wife was three miles away from our home
And the villagers got annoying when I was a good hero and they horded around me, making any form of travel impossible without whacking at least three of the fanboys over the head.

I think that's all I can think of at the moment

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

I am aggravated by the fact that only one main character can play, and the other has to be a default - online playing aside, obviously. Not to mention the aggravating skewed views when said person is accompanying you everywhere.

And the pervy black smith won't stop following me around and invading my house. Arg! I wish you could prevent everyone from coming into your house.

Re: Fable 2 Likes & DisLikes(feel free to vent)

I dislike how it is so hard to get good points.
