Speaking at GDC 2007 Peter Molyneux has finally enlightened us to some of his secrets for Fable 2. He revealed what many suspected or perhaps even already knew that you will have a dog to follow you throughout your adventures in Albion. However players' pets arent simply a cosmetic effect to keep heroes or villains company on dark wet nights, as the dog will have a variety of uses.

The dog will behave exactly as a dog does but what is quite interesting is that it will respond to voice commands a la Nintendogs. The features don't stop there either as the dog will also act as an invaluable ally for scouting ,picking up enemies scent and distracting foes in combat. What is more the dog will also change its appearance to resemble its master; meaning players with an evil streak will be accompanied by a more ferrocious looking animal than those who are angelic. Other revealtions from the event revealed that dog themed downloadable content was on the cards, as was the opportunity to meet other people's dog creations, which are said to never be identical.

For the more money orientated, Molyneux suggested that the cold cash will be a lot harder to come by this time however gamers will be able to buy any land you see in the game, securing properties to unlock new quests. Dynamic regions will also feature, meaning towns can grow from one building into a city, devoted to you if you helped build it from the beginning.

Interesting stuff but still only snippets of info. We'll have to simply keep waiting until the next juicy news comes from the Lionhead camp.

I don't know if this is realy true but it sounds almost legit to me :P. Anyways I love that you can also talk with the dogs especialy my little nephews will like it.

wow some stufgf in their i did not know about e.g your dog will respond to voice commands and that citys will grow. Is the voice command your voice or your characters

Well I would'nt be too excited for it because I could not find any info about this outside that forum. So maybe someone just made it up...

Voice commands with the Xbox Live headset wouldnt be difficult to do i guess if thats how they wanted to do it. If that information is real of course and not fabricated nonsense from a random place.

there was some game that tried to do commands through a headset, but i think it kept taking the wrong commands.:(

SOCOM on the PS2 was one of the first.

yea, i never tried that, there was another though, i remember the main character was a girl but that is as much as i remeber... i saw it on g4...

The bad thing about the town building is that if you destroy a camp it doesnt grow it stays destroyed

i'm sure they don't mean voice commands litterally. i think they mean like expressions that you use in the game, i.e. "no" "fetch" etc.

I agree with that We can see as much in the GDC video from Last year + Rep

id like my floating castle, only id want mine over a giant lava pit with a black paint job, 20 ft high spikes, kind of like in the legend of zelda. i'd name it: the castle of Man...yea...
