To demonstrate this to attendees, Travis had actors reenact a scene from “Fable 2” where the main character and his sister Rose come upon a traveling salesman named Murgo.
In this scene, Murgo is peddling various items to the town folk such as a magical mirror that “only works in complete darkness” and a box that is supposed to grant the owner a single wish.
Rose is skeptical of the whole affair and is about to leave when a blind soothsayer named Theresa stops her. The woman convinces Rose that the little box she just proclaimed as being "junk," may actually be the answer to what she needs in order to reach her goal.
On its own, the scene unfolds much as one would expect from a video game. However, by changing where the conversation between Rose and Theresa takes place and giving the background performers more to do than simply stand around until it was their turn to speak; Travis managed to deliver a much more immersive experience.
Of course, it’s a far stretch from having actors reenact a scene on stage and turning that into something that will actually work in game
