Now let’s talk about the story, let’s talk about the opening of the story, as I said, you can be a man or a woman, the story starts in classic computer game style. It’s all about this bird, this regal bird, flying through this, oh this amazing, incredible landscape, through, down vales, over mountaintops, through city streets, the bird just comes to rest on the top of this, this tower, and, it takes a dump. The camera follows the dump down, it comes down, the crap lands on this kid’s head - that’s you. That’s the style of the game. You’re nobody, you’re nothing, you live in the sewers, everybody, you know, just disregards you. Your destiny is to be a truly great hero ...
The story has a baddy, who’s Lucien, we’re trying to make him the most cruel baddy you’ve ever seen, not evil, cruel. He is destined to build this tower, called the spire, that tower will end up five miles high, what you do with that tower is very much dependent on how you play the game, we are really going in, and anyone that saw the talk with Peter Jackson this morning and heard some of the things that I said will realize that I’m really into the world and the story connecting with you, what you are, so you will find the story slightly different when you play it, but you still will be able to talk about that, you are destined, in that story, to bring together a group of heroes rather like the Magnificent 7."

Confirmed Facts
On 8 March, 2007 Lionhead's Peter Molyneux gave a presentation to journalists during which he revealed a new "secret" component of the game will be the involvement of a pet dog (videos:). Sticking with the underlying theme of unconditional love, this dog will loyally follow you through the game, reflect your alignment, and even replace the mini-map from the first game. Some confirmed traits of this pooch will be:
  • The dog is a sidekick, but has a mind of its own
  • The dog's actions are based on "dynamic desire mapping" technology. This includes attacking the strongest opponent and deciding which opponents to attack depending on your weaknesses.
  • Dogs will age, gain/lose weight, and their coats will change over time and with alignment
  • There will be dog based mini-games
  • The intent of the dog is similar to the intent of the wife and child feature: Unconditional love displayed by these characters is intended to evoke an emotional response from the gamer
  • There will be NO mini-map. Instead your dog will guide you through Albion.
  • Similar to the "Good and Evil" alignment, a couple of new attributes affect your character, such as a "Kind and cruel" alignment and a "Rich and poor" alignment
  • It was stated that every single building in Fable 2 can be bought, including castles, if the player has enough gold.
  • Each building will have at least one quest assigned to it.
  • There are 15,000,000 poppies in the game.
On July 6, 2006 Lionhead's Sam Van Tilburgh gave a brief update of the game's progress on the company's website:
  • Albion has seen some significant changes, both to its scenery and characters
  • Some "rather cool" twists have been promised.
  • Early blunderbuss firearms and musket rifles appeared in the latest trailer and screenshots, and are presumed to be in the game.
  • Fable 2 will be more mature in content than its predecessor was.
  • There is a new woodland region that is the size of all of the original woodland regions combined.
  • The "Good or Evil" element will be much more prevalent in Fable 2.
On September 29, 2006 Lionhead's Peter Molyneux gave a preview of Fable 2 at X06 (full speech here ):
  • The Hero starts as a street urchin.
  • The player will be able to choose his or her character's gender. Their bodies will mature accordingly as they age or level up in experience.
  • Property can now be invested in, and you will also be able to buy things like castles or even catacombs.
  • It is now possible to have children, whether you are playing as a female or a male.
  • The designer wants to reproduce a theme of unconditional love in your children.
  • The player can plant an acorn into the ground and watch it grow into an oak tree.
  • The player can affect the future of a camp by choosing to finance it or slay everyone inside.
  • The Hero's child is affected by the Hero's actions. This means that if the Hero is evil, his/her child will be too.
  • Images found online taken from X06 show a new area called Bloodstone which appears to be a coastal dock-style area for ships. In the original Fable's folder structure, some meshes that were made for Twinblade's camp were labelled as "BLOODSTONE_<NAME>_<NUMBER>", etc.
  • Other images from X06 also hint heavily at pirates making an appearance and indicate that the "whores" of Albion, as named in the image, will also reappear in Fable 2.
  • In the improved combat system, the way the hero swings his sword changes according to proximity of walls, allies, and enemies.
  • You will now be able to take jobs such as bartender or farmer.
  • Your character will age, as the game takes place over 50 years
  • You may now choose from protected or unprotected sex.
  • Each tree, including branches and leaves are animated individually, meaning each will flow with their own natural physics.
  • You will be responsible for supporting your family both by presence and monetarily seeing as this will affect their outcome as time passes.
On December 12, 2006, it was announced that the game would utilize the Havok physics engine[6]. A full list of technology used is here .
  • The game will not feature cut scenes. Peter Molyneux said they should be left behind in the old generation of gaming

Isn't this what Wiki says about fable 2? Cause I posted that a while ago. Granted I didn't have the story line part. But I can't seem to find it.good job though

Sephi's right this is just a copy and paste from wikipedia Fable 2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. It's best to quote a section that you find illuminating and add a link to the rest. And make sure you give credit to where you got the info ;)

I dont like that there will be no mini map because like the new woodland is as big as all the woods in fable 1 toogether.... OMG!!! I WILL NEVER FIND MY WAY AROUND ANYWHERE!!! god... I hate this! I couldnt find my way out of a paper bag...

Hey Welcome to the forums! I recommend you introduce yourself in the Oakvale section of the forums!

As for this, nice work Red Soldier. I also think you should introduce yourself in the Oakvale section...

Forgive me if I repeat anyone's post. What I find most gripping about the Fable universe is the story depth. New additions, weapons, clothes and so on are great but simply obvious for the next gen console. I want to know how they are going to tie in this 500 year gap. Which alternate ending are they going to derive Fable 2 from? Where's our Hero? Is he a Saint or is he evil? Where's Jack of Blades or his predecessor? Where's the legends of the Guildmaster, Maze, Briar Rose? I know, I'm crying for spoilers! All I can say is I hope and pray that they can exquisitly tie in Fable without it become a copycat ripoff with new graphics. And I think the bird pooping on your head at the very beginning is an awsome opener.
Let me tell you what I don't want to see: Our Fable 1 Hero as a cruel dictator (masked, of course) whom you have to fight, rip the mask from his flesh and be tempted by it.

Now, let me share what I do want to see:
1. Gender specific side quests. Let's give replayablility more bang.

2. The inclusion of Fable 1 core events and characters as legend and story nessescity without the overwhelming, drab repeat of stuff we've already done.

3. At least 75% of Achievements that DON'T reach completion through regular game play. Moreover, in-game rewards for completing Achievements or groups of Achievements. (Forgive the name drop, but Halo 3 had the best idea for these)
