Fable 2...Worse than Fable 1

I personally think Fable 2 didnt live up to the hype it had at all. The whole sister dying in the beginning thing needed to end after the first one.Compared to Fable 1 or The Lost Chapters, they took a step backwards. For a game thats based on choices they kind of skimped a bit compared to Fable 1 I mean honestly, where is my mini map not this trail bs, where is my armor, Where are my special weapons, such as the Sword of Aeons,why would I want to wear noble gents outfitWhere are my special weapons, such as the Sword of Aeons. And Where did the final boss go? I mean 1 bullet, I was expecting the hardest fight in the game. Did anyone else love how the pause menu freezes up on you every second? And they had a good idea with the multiplayer, but they got us excited and then screwed us. Who honestly wants to be a henchmen. They could have made it so u could use ur own hero. On the other hand they did do some things right, the dog was a nice touch, making every building possible to buy was a nice touch, and the story was good, but not as good as the first..................Let me know what you think, Agree or Disagree either way

I believe that Fable 2 lived up to all the hype that it got regarding what you could do (i.e free roam, dog, family, etc.) but as an avid fan of the Fable and TLC storyline, I'd say that they defiantly went a step back. They should have concentrated more on the storyline and hours of main quest gameplay, that worry about multiplayer. There are really only 3 "BIG" towns (Bowerstone, Bloodstone, and Oakfield), and the Banshee is really the only "new" enemy introduced in the game. and not even the Banshee is basically a remake of the Screamers in Fable. All in all I would say that Lionhead did an inadiquit job at retaining it's title of best action-rpg, and I belive that the only way they can redeem themselves is with a load of DLC (new regions, armor, quests, weapons, everything).

Which of course will cost money.... >_> i don't see the point in buying a game for that much money, and then have to pay more to get the good stuff from a game... thats bs! MS is BS thats my opinion

I agree with you there, but I also know that it would make the game much more fun...
Did you buy TLC? Cause thats basically the equivalent of DLC

Fable 2 isn't free roam. It's trying to be but it isn't. I'd say it's half way there. Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, those are all free roam games. Fable 2 isn't. But Fable 2 has better enviroments than all of those games, and it is much more vibrant. Where Oblivion just looked like the same acre of land copied and pasted throughout the entire game (Still loved it though, spent way too many hours playing that game ) Saying it's a free roam is giving it too much credit though. That's one thing that disapointed me, PM said anywhere you can see you can go, which simply isn't true.

Fable 2 is at least 10 times better than Fable 1 though. The thing is, fable 1 had a certain charm because it was the first in the series, and it was so new to us then. Fable 2, although it has a lot of charm we still knew what to expect.

Not paying for good stuff from the game your paying 'extra' for 'extra' stuff in a game. Unless they removed the content in the first place and then released it later and charged its not the 'good stuff' from the game.

I personally believe that this game completely lived up to the hype.

I have played both 1 and 2 and must say that 2 completely dominates 1 for many reasons. First off, I'm not sure about anyone else but I thought 1 was extremely shorter than 2 is. Fable 1 lacked the side-quests that Fable 2 brought. Fable 2 offers more freedom, even with a mini-map in Fable 1 it was easier to get lost in than Fable 2. Every game has a bug or two, yes. But Lionhead did a great job making Fable 2, it's twice as entertaining. I was a bit disappointed with the ending myself...but at least it doesn't end there. As in Fable 1, after you beat it...there is very little left to do. At least in this one you can double the hours in gameplay with sidequests, etc. Think about it.

My personal opinion is that the storyline was better, a little disappointing with no armor. Medium freeroaming. The combat was great! The magic was better than ever, a lot of bugs, the most beautiful environment i have ever seen. Some of those Oblivion for example cant even compete with. Fable 2 has way cooler environment and way better fighting system than oblivion. Also i think Fable 2 lived up to the hype and was a great game. And yes i was also disappointed with the end ''fight''.

THERE IS NO FREE ROAMING!!!! try swimming it says you cant go out very far! ive sen many places in the backround that is impossible to go to. Hell try just walking there are gates everywere you have to go through the storyline to be allowed to open them!!!
2 is not a free rome in the least. I COMPLETELY AGREE SKLLZDATKILLZ weres the ****ing bosses? the endin was ****!!!! u stand and talk THATS IT! im not putting spoiler tags on that its not really an ending anyways...

I don't think so, if you played TLC, you would know it's much longer. More side quest.
TLC was 500 years earlier. Times were different. I can't recall that many clothes and haircuts. You certainly couldn't be a girl, that bothered me.
Also didn't have makeup and dyes for everyting. I really love to shoot out the gargoyles. They get on my nerves.:ninja:
I still love TLC, and probably will still play it later on. Fable 2 is unique, the choices are very deep, more like real life.

TLC was b4 next gen and it kicked ass now it is next gen and the sequal is worse than the first, yes it had more features but if i want a million features with no piont ill play an online game becuase i want a next gen game that has everything i videogame should have not just a crapload of features. i very much hope they take their dear time making 3 and 4 becuase it atleast has to be as good as the first fable for me to like it.

yes but saying that if they want to live up to your expectations they would have to make a game that was as fun and enjoyable as the original. the point is it is a sequel, its a second game using the same franchise. if they wanted to make a game that was as good as the first one they would have repackaged the first game in shiny new next gen material and changed a few names and places and leg weapons. drum it in to your heads this is NOT fable! i love fable as much as the next man but i recognise that this game is not fable you need to look at it as though it is its own game once you start doing that you learn to love it as its own game and not just spend all the time you play it thinking omg this is **** compared to first one. learn to love it as its own game.

It's not the same, and people are feeling a little strange, and that's OK, to talk about it and hope the next game gives the happy feeling. I can't stand to loose my dog, I have become so attached, and they want to punish me for being so good? I can't finish the game. I've started 3 different games because of that. I won't make that choice, it's just to much guilt. :'(

I think the first Fable was better than the second, because the second has practically NOTHING to do with the first, which makes it seem like a completely new concept, but there are a lot of things missing from Fable II that I really enjoyed from the first, and I wish they'd make another Fable much like the first.

I would definitely say Fable 2 is a set up from Fable 1.

A larger map, a better spell casting system, guns added to the game, the choice to be a girl, the ability to have children, the job system, the new expression system, the ability to dye clothes and hair, a shorter day/night cycle (thank god), the ability to swim, the ability to jump off something...

, more lore (the back story to hobbes anyone?!), more houses to buy, more stores to buy, TEMPLES to buy, achievements (yay!), quests after you complete the main story line (as opposed to only looking for silver keys), henchmen (couch co-op), co-op, NO GUILD MASTER...

and probably a ton of other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head.

The only thing this game is missing is fishing!

I played the first Fable a lot and followed its progression from the start when it was Project Ego (hence the site name) and yeah Fable was lacking in many areas compared to what was promised. However Fable 2 has delivered on most things that were promised, some people took things into their imagination and expected more than what they were going to get but thats their problem. Ive been happy with Fable 2 so far, i mean ive spent more time playing Fable 2 so far than i did on my first playthrough of Fable and i tried to do as much as i could in both first time through. Both have their faults but they are games and nothing is perfect, take them for what they are and dont expect the revolution of the RPG genre everytime someone speaks and you arent disappointed.
