Fable for PC help.

Well, I have recently decided I would like to get into PC gaming more, and I figure Fable is a good basis for that. However my GPU isn't powerful enough to play it, and I am having trouble deciding which one to buy - I really don't need a particularly powerful, I really only want it to play and mod Fable and Oblivion.

In short, would this be powerful enough to run Fable TLC succesfully along with Fable explorer?

Many thanks.

Re: Fable for PC help.

Getting back into PC gaming, you say? Good man.

What's your maximum budget? If you don't mind spending £90-£130 I can recommend some brilliant cards that would not only churn out 150+ FPS consistently on Fable: TLC's max settings but also *probably* run Fable 3 quite comfortably.

If you're determined to go for this card then I'd recommend Googlin' the GPU and append review into the query. I had a quick peak at some of the reviews and it seems to run 2007 games fairly competently , but at ultra low resolutions. I'd say that if you get this card, you won't see brilliant results with Fable: TLC.

It also won't allow for much room with regards to modern PC gaming. The nVidia 8x00 series are getting on a bit now and the 8500 series wasn't even the bleeding edge back then. You can count Fable 3 out for a start. :(

Re: Fable for PC help.

My budget can vary, I have about 150 squid, but I'm slightly hesitant on buying a GPU for that much as I plan on getting a new copmuter in the near future and like I say I would just really like a somewhat decent GPU to play Fable on. My current computer is really quite rubbish, but the spec test says all I need to upgrade for Fable TLC is the GPU.

I would like to get a new computer over the holidays, which would serve as my general computer.

Also, can you give any recommendations for cards under 40 squid that would run Fable sufficiently?

Many thanks.
