Fable II referances in Fallout 3?

This came to my attention when I noticed the acheivment "Reaver" (reach level 8 with bad karma). Then just now when I was looking at a map of the wasteland I noticed a location named "Fairfax Ruins". I havent been there yet so I dont know what its like.

Could these be referances/eastereggs relating to Fable II? and if so, does anyone know of any others?

I think it might be, seeing as how the two games where released a week apart and are "rival" rpgs. I dunno, food for thought I guess.

Maybe, but why would you think this? Are you calling Fallout 3 a liar:O. Are YOU conspiricising to DESTROY the Fallout universe? OMG! But I realy believe that Fallout was in production as Fable 2 was in production. It's possible.......... but only so........:ninja:

Well, I daresay it is fairfax, I went there and its a (heavily armed) raider infested ruined town that looks like it used to be quite nice and large. its basicly two rows of buildings with a street down the middle, with two very large office buildings at one end. looks like fairfax to me.

check it out if youve got nothing better to do (and some farily decent weapons, I practicly had a war when 5 or so raiders spotted me, one with a missle launcher, I sniped another with a missle launcher befor they spoted me so this place could be very nasty. not to mention the turret and land mines. :) ) its fairly close to Megaton, between there and Tenpenny tower. if you placed a marker at robco factory and where in Megaton, Fairfax ruins is about halfway in between and a bit southeast of the line, near a 90 degree turn in the highway that runs between Girdershade and Vault 101. if these instructions arent enough, look it up somewhere.

I did indeed notice the large building, it does look like Fairfax castle. But in Fable 2 I didnt find any Firelances in Fairfax gardens.

Well the development of Fallout 3 was started by Black Isle Studios in 2003 until Interplay laid off the entire Black Isle Studios staff. So Bethesda took over the development in July 2004. This was 2 years before Fable II was announced so id say it was co-incidental.

Was going to say the same thing, seems to me to be pure coincidence.

Or maybe they were both inspired by the same things? Reaver is the name of an enemy or unpleasant character in alot of other things, so maybe it comes from that?

Re: Fable II referances in Fallout 3?

Its Fairfax County and Fairfax City, Suburbs of Washington D.C. The Fairfax in fable probably comes from the name Fairfax, an english name. The suburb was also named after a person with the surname Fairfax. I am also sorry for the post in a dead topic.

Re: Fable II referances in Fallout 3?

yeah the reaver thing is a coincidence lots of people name stuff reaver like gears of war 2, fairfax though is a wierd name not likely a coincidence considering there rivals, rpg genre and became highly successful.. maybe there is a conspiracy where they helped each other with there games
