Fable II Save File Import?

So I heard before Fable III came out that you can import your save file in from Fable II.

Was this actually true? If so how is it done?

its automatic. it "imports" your last saved file from fable 2 and this affects whether or not people refer to your parent hero as male/female. this also supposedly changes the things people in the villages might whisper about your hero parent. that seems to be the only the the fable 2 "import" does and its automatic.

Really? That's all? ....that's kinda a bummer...I mean cool yea the people react to you depending on what you did in fable 2. But it woulda been a nice bonus if because of your actions you got something. I dunno what. maybe a weapon, a set of clothing, even a house (now when i say house i'm thinking if your actions were good in fable 2 you got a nice little summer home. If you were evil then some evil looking tower of doom or something around that ). Meh just wishful thinking. There's alot they coulda done.

I don't think that's all because all but one of my heroes (first one) were girls but they keep referring to my "father". My last million saves were from my female characters...

all i know is the rumor that is going around, and it makes sense to me. (all my hero's from Fable II are female and in my four saves for Fable III my parent is referred to as the Queen) There have been a few forum threads on this topic and most people are saying that is what the Fable II import does.

Well that's fair, but I still wonder why it didn't work for me

I hear that It uses the very last time you save on fable 2. Do the villagers comment on whether or not your father was an evil bastard or a saint? I probably won't be able to notice cause my last save on fable 2 i had just gotten outta the spire on my evil guy.
