So we all know what Fable is (unnecessary sentence). But what do we WANT Fable to be? How do we want to enjoy this game? It seems Fable I came up, but was destroyed by Hype; Fable II arrived, destroyed by Hype and the numerous things taken out. Now Fable III arrived, and on the very release day people are complaining. "Weapon Morphing sucks", "The story was to short", "Being King sucks", etc. You know, but then again all Fable games end up like this.
So let US design Fable IV, let US decide how it is done. Suggestions you have?
Fishing
Yeah, fishing sucked in Fable I, but I loved the idea. I wish LH and PM would build onto this.
Quick Select
In Fable I you could assign a specific item to a D-Pad slot. I assign beer to the right slot, and press right to drink beer. Simple, easy, convenient.
Fable I's Aging System
In Fable I, as you upgraded, you aged as well. You actually GREW through the game, as time passed, it was noticeable. Fable II, you never aged unless you were selfless in the Shadow Court... which could then be reversed. I also see why most people hate it. But I LOVED how I aged with my Hero in Fable I, maybe put it back into the game one day, but at the end have a bed which makes you young again?
Leveling
PM and LH tried doing something really nice, taking out RPG Mechanics. One was leveling, and though it DOES make it more accessible, the Diehard Fable fans hate it. I liked having the different styles, increasing damage, and increasing life/speed. I loved those and what they did. I think Will should have a Styles to (unlocking level 2 spells, level 3 spells, etc etc), and a 'Focus' that increases Damage, and a 'Will' meter to increase Mana (which ought to be included). Swords and guns can be bought from stores, so I think Gauntlets should to. That'd even out all three areas.
Fairytale Feeling
In Fable I, the game was 'divided' (in a way) into many different segments, small ones. At the end of a 'segment' you watched a short scene of pictures, with a guy (Guild Master) talking in the background. This made Fable feel like Fable, and the sequels seemed Un-Fable-Like to me without this. Maybe it is just me.
Anymore?
