Fable lag

Hey guys. Its been happening to me for a while now, so I just thought I'd check to see if it happens to other people. Basically what happens, is sometimes when I walk around (doing quests, having fun, bla bla), the ground isn't as detailed as it should be...It's almost like the outline of the ground before the creators actually put detail into it, and also, the ground (being not detailed) is really high up...so im able to walk through it... Then eventually, the ground gets its detail back, and its leveled with the other ground.

I know this is really hard to understand the way im writing this.....but its really hard to explain too lol... If someone knows what Im talking about, please post >_<. Thanks :P

(Also, usually when im in Oakvale, Fable starts lagging. Not the ground kind of lag lol, it just lags, like glitch kind of walking and stuff... I think it might be because of me playing the XBox to long o.O)

Re: Fable lag

Its the the textures loading and catching up thats all, just make sure Xbox is well ventilated and disc is clean. Happens to a lot of games at some point.

Re: Fable lag

Oh ok. Ya, that must be it, im surprised you understood what i said :P. Thanks. So how could I make sure the Xbox is being well ventilated?

Just make sure there is nothing obstructing the air vents on the sides or back and make sure its not right next to anything that gives out heat. Happens to me on games like Fable, Gears Of War, Halo etc its nothing major just some texture loading lag.

Re: Fable lag

I think I should also maybe dust my XBox...maybe some dust is getting in the air vent too...just to be sure :P

Yeah, if you feel comfortable opening it up give it a dust inside aswel. If not then dont bother and just make sure vents arent blocked and such.

Re: Fable lag

Na, I thought about opening it up...I capable of doing so, its just that I sorta get paranoid and scared because I dont want to ruin anything lol....so I'd best not do that :P

Be surprised how little space is used in them, ive opened mine up to dust it and such after its warranty expired and was stunned by the space inside them that isnt used.

Re: Fable lag

Really? Why would they make them so big then?....strange....strange indeed.....

Edit: Found these...where's the empty space your talking about? :ninja:

Looks full when you look at it like that but from different angle it makes you wonder why they needed to make the so thick and bulky.

Re: Fable lag

Oh. Maybe we should write a letter and complain! Who's with me!? *Cricket noises...* oh...alright then...:P

Well all the space above the chips helps keep it cool so its not bad idea to make it the size it was as it helps the air get to all parts.

Re: Fable lag

That is true also...I guess it was a smart decision, because they also did know that the XBox will be put through many tests (Good graphic games, people modding it, etc. lol) .

Yeah people complain it looks like a VCR and is way to big but that helped go in its favour for a lot of other reasons, as cases were easy to replace, it stays a lot cooler than the PS2 and especcily the Slimline PS2, couldnt be knocked off surfaces easily, plenty of space to... add things :ninja:

Re: Fable lag

Yup, my point exactly. I have the slimline PS2. I must say, its pretty good because you can put it almost anywhere....but ya, you have to let it cool off after a while of playing it...or its ****** lol... (sorry for the swear, just couldnt think of anything else that was perfect for the moment >.<)

Yeah plus if you have a pet (dog for example) they are easily catapulted across the room when they trip over the cables and such where as Xbox doesnt move or cable just seperates. The slimline PS2's are known for overheating as they have so many chips in such a small space and much smaller fan than regular PS2.

Re: Fable lag

Ya. I wish I had a dog, I would love to see that  I don't enjoy using this word usually, but yes...it would be cute....>.<

Not cute when your playing a game and dog runs past trips over cable and sends your slimline PS2 flying across the room as its so light.
