Fable: The Lost Chapters - still fresh and innovative
It's been a while since I last sat down and booted up my copy of Fable: The Lost Chapters for the original Xbox, but today my fiancee decided she fancied a go and who am I to refuse? (it meant I could have the PC all to myself to browse whatever I please... so that did help sway me slightly...). But, I digress. We loaded up the bungalow that is my Xbox and watched as the old Xbox splash screen came and went, as did the faithful Lionhead Studios logo.
Anywho, once that incredible little video kicks in right before the main menu (the one with the main Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters theme score) I instantly fell in love with the game all over again. Which was pretty crap timing on my part as I just agreed to let my old lady have a go and it meant I'd have to wait my turn... to which I exclaimed... curses!
Well.. I didn't, but you get the gist.
Oh yeah, right. So I'm looking at the main menu now, typing this message as the soothing sound of Fable's main menu tune is playing in the background, and I am just itching to create a new file and experience the awe-inspiring RPG masterpiece that is Fable: The Lost Chapters. Sure, it has it's fair share of faults here and there, but well, I love it. I still believe it's as amazing and genuinely addictive as it has ever been and I can't wait to hit the reply button and be done with this thread so I can shoot off to play the sucker for old times sake...
In conclusion: Fable; still as fresh and innovative as the day I purchased it. So, why not load it up yourself? Even if it's just for one last trip down 'memory lane'? I highly recommend it.
And... I'm spent.
