So, recently I googled the Fable wiki and discovered that.. in all honesty is pretty poor in comparison to other wiki's like mass effect and elder scrolls, so I've started a new one... yes its a pretty blunt solution but I feel that it's necessary. If any of you would like to edit it go to-
http://fablepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Fablepedia_Wiki
Please, if you edit try to keep everything plain text for now, feel free to reference lionhead's "Tales of Albion" on specific subjects like the old kingdom.
Thanks,
LeafySuburb

PS: if someone didn't keep locking pages on the current fable wiki we wouldn't need to create another one.....

Wikia is the worst place for a wiki, in my opinion. Though I second what JohnDoe said above.

Our wiki is fine, it can't be as fancy as ME's or TES's because there's a smaller fanbase and overall less lore. To be completely honest, and I don't mean to be rude, I wouldn't be surprised if your project failed.

That's why it's up to you to make it good! And better than the Fable Wiki, who apparently does a poor job. If most people here actually agree that that's true, it means that those people know more about Fable than there is on that site. Should be easy to contrubte, right?

I kid, I kid...

To be honest, I have been working on a Fable wiki project since a while. If someone's is interested then PM me.

1.I am aware of how large a project this is, but put simply, you have as closed a community as wiki allows. Your guides are quite helpful, but others regarding topics like the old kingdom are poorly written and are merely copy and pasted from "Tales of Albion"...
2. Your idea of a fan base seems warped? There are plenty of people willing to contribute to your community, but members there are somewhat hostile and oblivious to anyone elses idea's. Input is largely rejected and it's just plain bad. If you want to continue writing for the Fable.Wiki, be my guest! But leave me and my own small lonely wiki to ourselves and continue to establish yourself as the best Fable wiki, but know that the only reason you are the best wiki is because your the only wiki with a group of writers. That can be changed...

I can't even hazard a guess at your chances at success with a new wiki but I'll support it if you support information acquired by modders/hackers. It's been a couple of years now since I bothered trying to correct information on the current wiki because I'd get slammed by some fanboy twits who have a problem with my methods.
Rather than having 1800 articles, I'm just hoping to have high quality articles and guides. I've added a new area for modders and if you happen to join i'd gladly make you an administrator.

That won't be necessary and I wouldn't open that door to just anyone who claims to be a modder. But yes, I'd like to add a few things about the game here and there, not about modding though. I had once prepared a large database for weapons, creatures, armors, various other things that contained information straight from the game files. A few idiots at the current wiki considered it "speculation" because I didn't get it from in-game without modding or hacking. I'm in the middle of putting some of this information back together, it's quite detailed and will be complete and accurate, a claim that the folks at the current wiki cannot boast.

Hell hath no fury like a modder scorned, so I'm all up for burying them.
Thats fine. I've just played Fable on a mac/PC and feel that some of the cheats and mod's were the highlights of those play-throughs. Regardless there will be a modder section! heh!

There's already a wiki for Fable modding. (three of them, actually) That's covered. I think what JohnDoe means is that information from modders, which comes directly from inside the game files, should be accepted and not neglected.
