Fable's Storyline

So this is a topic I've been curious about. In Fable, cannonatically, you're character is suppose to be a male, but in Fable 2, you're given the choice of being male of female. Now, people have told me that cannonatically, your character was supposed to be a male, but, in Fable 3, when Walter trains you in combat at the castle, I've seen both male and female character acounts, where Walter says that your mother was a hero. I know that you can import Fable 2 saves into Fable 3, but my friend had never played Fable 2, and had no saved accounts on his xbox for a save to be imported to state that it was a female. So, are you suppose to be a male or a female in Fable 2 cannonatically? I realize this isn't an important issue, I was just wondering out of sheer curiousity. ^_^

From the Fable Wiki:

Canonically, the Hero of Bowerstone is male. This is discovered in the novel, Fable: The Balverine Order (set between Fable II and III), as several of the characters refer to the "King" of Albion as being the last of the Heroes, i.e Sparrow (The Hero of Bowerstone). Also, if Fable III is played without a Fable II save game, he is referred to, by default, as the "Old King"

I don't know what to tell you about your friend's game. You're sure a copy of Fable 2 has never gotten anywhere near his Xbox?

You can pick yo be female or male at the getting of the game no matter what. Some things change but not much, when you ate a female they still say in the story your father was a hero, not much really changes.
You have either Elliot or else. Cant really think of much else though.
