Far Cry 2 Scores High

Ubisoft Montreals hotly anticipated new shooter in the Far Cry series has received its first review. PC Gamer UK gave it a 94% score and made comments like the following about it...

Far Cry 2 is a "beautiful" and "utterly absorbing" FPS, the combat just works and the title has consistently surprising narrative. Make no mistake, this is an absolutely superb game. It's a game you'll find very, very hard to stop playing, Once you're in, you'll not leave until forced for a number of reasons it also boasts extraordinary visuals, absorbing first-person lock and standout weather effects.

Games have simulated weather in the past, but none better than this. Dawn is astonishing. Sunset adds drama to an already dramatic landscape. Storms send chills. The moon fills the sky. After playing Far Cry 2, we're simply unable to go back to straight and simple first-person shooters. This game has executed our expectations. Would you, could you, go back to games with similar gunfights to this, but along a more rigid axis? I think your own expectations are going to rise dramatically.

I personally cant wait for this game, hope the console version is close to the PC version quality wise.

Im still not sure about this game cause the orginal did'nt really apeal at all to me (played the PC version) hopefully this has a different theme.

Well its not even made by the same company (Crytek) and the style has totally changed from the first. Whole game has had a major overhaul (no mutants or powers this time around either).

Looks like i'll look into it then cause it sounds much better now! The mutants really ****ed me of, they kept one hitting you.

Yeah. Crysis is far closer to Far Cry than this game seems to be.

Haven't decided whether or not to get it, though.

I cant wait for Far Cry 2 aye.. i loved Fary Predator Instincts on the Original Xbox.. i loved making stupid levels.

I havent looked for myself and have done very little research on this game, but does anyone know if FC2 will have a map editor?

Oh nah we were talking about Far Cry Instincts Predator.. were not sure if they will have it in Far Cry 2, but my opinion they will.. like.. 99% sure they will.

Im gonna have to buy this game just for the map editor. I love playing with those, that all I did on the orginal and on every Tony Hawk/skating or BMX game.

Game looks very good. Watched almost every video on gametrailers. The whole immersion thing there going for is awesome. Its also great that there sending guys to africa to help make the game better
