Favorite Game Genre

Which video game genre is your favorite? FPS? RPG? RTS? 2D Side Scroller?

My favorite genre will always be RPGs, but not MMORPGs (Monthly payments for a single game is ridiculous.). They have so many different ways for you to play the game, and so many different things for you to do. I will never get bored of a good RPG.

Thats a really hard question hmmm its in between real time strategy/strategy and rpgs. I would say Strategy since ive been paying those non stop since i was nine instead of playin nintendo stuff lol but these days the companies are producing absolute crap or my computer cant handle it -_- for example i cannot play empire total war, i am in love with medieval tw, nobody can make great strategies like Age of Empires the Conquerors and Dawn of War these days, but I say rpgs due to the ridiculous amount of time i put into them.

I'd say RPG's, as I love a game with a story rather than an online game.

I love RPGs, but oddly enough, I don't like to role play. I like games like the Elder Scrolls and Fable 2, where I can play the game how I would actually act if the game was real. If that makes sense. I like to see the game as more of a simulator than a game.

I like Fable, Elder Scrolls, the X Series, things of that nature.

I also dig sports games. Cricket and soccer being the primary ones.

I've also recently gotten back into C&C Tiberian Sun. I used to play that heaps when I was a kid, and I recently rediscovered it.

Yea, fighting games are awesome too. My favorite fighter would have to be Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. I wish they had it for the 360, though. I have to go to my friend's house to play it on his Wii. :lol: Although, I think I'll be getting Dragon Ball: Raging Blast soon for the 360. Should be awesome. It's got SS3 Broly and Vegeta.

My second favorite fighter is probably Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The only problem with that one is that whenever me and my friends play it together, somebody ends up getting p*ssed at someone else. Usually that fixes itself in about five minutes though. :lol:

^Damn, that's a tough one. My favorite is probably Lucario, but I don't think I could say which character I'm best with. I mostly use Lucario, R.O.B., Link, and Ike.

As for Melee, my favorite and best character will always be Mewtwo.

Hmm tough one. I like to play a whole variety of games. RPG, RTS to Shooters, 1st and 3rd person, Racing and Sport games.

I never really played RPG's before Fable although I did have Pokemon on the Gameboy (which I still think I have btw !)

I guess I'd have to say RPGs. I'm not a big fan of FPS but I do like the zombie maps on WaW. By the way, not all MMORPGs have monthly fees. Guild Wars is a good example. And so is DDO. and if you're in for a 2-D game there's Dransik..

I really dig all that stuff they put in about him in Soviet Russia being behind the war, and all the stuff about Cain and Abel and the Land of Nod... I love that kind of conspiracy ****.

Presicely the reason why I also am extremely enchanted by Assassin's Creed.

This is again a hard one as about every genre has it`s pearls. I`m still probably an FPS or RTS fan more than an RPG fan (although Chrono Cross is one of my favorite games).
Also, at first I would say I don`t like TBS (turn-based strategy), but again, the HoMM series and especially HoMM V is one of my favorite games so go figure.

Sorry about the short spam-like post, but in my opinion HoMM V is thus far the best in the series. I know 99% of the people think HoMM 3 > all, but I never really understood the reason. The usual argument people make is that HoMM 3 has good gameplay and HoMM 5 has good graphic, but that`s really just bull to me because HoMM V has both good graphics (which I love btw) and good gameplay and I really can`t agree that good graphics<worse graphics - it`s strange, though, as a lot of people seem to be saying that.
Now, I`m not saying you think like this, because I obviously don`t know your reasons, I`m just telling you what odd arguments I`ve heard/read.
Although I agree that HoMM 3 has probably the best music of the series (especially Combat 4), but other games have very good music too (HoMM V Sylvan castle). Music is actually a very strong point of this game, something you can`t say about most other games as you don`t really notice it at all.

All in all, I think we can agree that HoMM series is one kick ass series.

lol: You also might think I`m strange because I really enjoyed HoMM 4.)
